Counting Sheep: Not your average LS (EU/NA)

Hello there, fellow adventurers.

Allow me to introduce my Linkshell, although you've probability seen us around already, Counting Sheep.

Who are we?

CS is an active and friendly linkshell based on the Fabul server and we pride ourselves on being an Endgame LS with a difference. What's the difference, I hear you say? I'm glad you asked, allow me to elaborate.

Why are we different?

The difference is that we don't mandate to our members about turning up every other day to events. We don't force you to use our ventrilo server, if you really don't want to. We won't discriminate against you if you don't have the exact jobs or ranks that we need. You could call us a Casual Endgame shell. Casual does not mean that we only play 1-2 days a week (most of us play daily - just not 16 hours a day!), we also all have lives, jobs, families and other interests outside of FFXIV and understand that you might not be able to attend every scheduled event on the CS calender - and that's OK. Endgame means that, when we are online, we give it our all and do the best we can to achieve all that we can in the time we have available to us. And so far, we've achieved a lot!

Endgame?

Even though we class ourselves as Endgame, we don't have the typical EGLS attitude. We aren't elitist, in fact we actively discourage any kind of elitist attitude. We don't shout "noob" at the first sign of a lack of understanding during an unfamiliar scenario, we don't leave people behind because they don't have top notch equipment and the exact job we need for a scenario. Instead we offer advice and help to all our members, without being judgmental or patronizing. We truly try to take care of our own.

Sounds good, what's the catch?

No catch really, our only hard-line rule is that you only belong to 1 Endgame LS, Counting Sheep (other social shells are OK). Now, some people say that this is elitist in itself, but we beg to differ. Because of the way the LS is run, the sense of comradery, the amount of information, materials and support we share amongst our members, we feel that you should only need one shell. And besides...there is often a conflict of interest when members belong to other EGLS's.

I've been a member of Counting Sheep for quite some time, and they are a very active shell in fact, despite Shy's claims (maybe you are in a different time zone than some of our EU leaders?). There is almost always something going on, be it NA or EU levequest parties, roaming NM hunts, faction NM runs, and as of this weekend, dungeon runs. Leaders/officers are fair and everyone is friendly.

I even left the game for an extended period, and having recently returned, I was welcomed back to CS with open arms. You wouldn't receive that kind of treatment from many shells around, especially ones with an "elitist" attitude when there is nothing in this game worth being elitist about right now.

CS is a great shell with a good sense of humour and a healthy goal-driven attitude, anyone on Fabul seeking an LS would be lucky to be a part of this team!

Just thought Id say I am loving this shell since I joined it, great fun place to be, good people, have met some great friends and plan on meeting up with them, since alot of the EU people seem to live pretty close to me, we do 4 sets of nm runs a week 2 NA, 2 GMT.

Anyone who wants an end game shell without tons of pressure this is the place to come. You wont be forced to do any events but obviously most of us do do the events to get stuff from it.

Awesome shell that has managed to remain active around the clock since launch. With the limited content available up till now, we have consistently had levelling groups and NM runs on both the EU and NA side to keep us all busy. Everyone is helpful and friendly and always try to make new members feel welcomed into the family.

With the new content imminent we are aiming to jump right in and I look forward to doing new things with this great bunch of people.

Anyone looking for a shell that is active and will get the job done without making the game feel like a second job, you are looking in the right place.

Hello

I've been with these guys since the release of the game, if it wasn't for them I would have quit the game. I just can't imagine being in any other ls besides this one. Vack and Kali are great leaders, very active, and have fun things going all the time. It feel likes its a second home for me Am also very honored that they have made me an officer so anybody looking to join this awesome shell feel free to talk to me anytime!

Also wanted to say a few things about the members too. Just a great bunch of guys, very very helpful, friendly, humorous, fun, the list goes on..... If it wasn't for them and the leaders I wouldn't be where I am in the game today.

So yeah, if your looking for the perfect shell to join this would be it!!

I have played LOTS of MMOs, and Counting Sheep is by far the best LS I have had the pleasure of joining.
It is rare to find a skilled, motivated, and mature players all in one place! We kill NMs on a weekly basis (and make them look easy), have high level crafters in every discipline, and a great sense of humor =). CS is probably the only place that understands you have to go afk to put the kids in bed. If you want to get the most of FFXIV, without sacrificing the rest of your life to do it, CS welcomes you =).Ventrilo is available, but not required. We have at least 2 static sp groups running at all times, and our website and forums are super-active. Forums have everything from scheduled playtimes, NM strategies, Crafting recipes and leveling guides, to off-topic humor for every continent!
In short, if you are a skilled, friendly, mature player who enjoys FFXIV and the opportunity to be part of an outstanding team, fill out an app!

Ha im member by CS since 1 week and i can say there is much activity, we did a few NM and leve runs in this time!
The members there are always friendly and happy to help^^
Vack and Kali doin a great job as leader, im happy that i´ve joined them! im playin FFXIV since end january a was in a few other LS´s and never had so much fun since i´ve joined CS hehe!!!

I joined counting sheep about 4 monthes ago after hunting the forums for a new LS. At the time I was on rabaanshtra server so I went out on a whim and rerolled and im so glad did. I have been helped in every way, I have made new friends and i would have probably quit if it wasnt for this lovly LS. So if u are looking for a LS that dose NM`s and soon to be instance runs or looking to craft and have a laugh then this is the LS to join.
