    Marriage system

    SE, this is a serious request and I ask for you to close this down immediately when someone goes OT since we have enough of those.

    Request: please do not allow a marriage system in FFXIV at all!

    Reason: too much emotion and political stuff. With the last live letter, the threads also gone really live in a very negative matter.

    If people want to rant about same-sex marriage, NOT in this thread! There is like 6 out there started his morning. This is for all the people like I, who wish to play the game and have SE focus on new jobs for example rather than dealing with this topic.

    I suspect only Americans try to make this an issue. The main japanese community couldn't care less. So it's not a problem for SE. They just point and laugh.

    really, adding a marriage system into the game is a very minor addition to the game. In Final Fantasy XI (the previous Final Fantasy MMO) all it really amounted to was a form you had to fill out in the POL Viewer, a fee you had to pay in gil, and then once that was taken care of, you would receive a ring each for the Bride and Groom, and a service at your choice of location officiated by an NPC. As an optional additional service for an additional fee, you could also purchase a wedding gown for the bride.

    There was nothing intrinsically game breaking about these features. The problems that arose with the Wedding Service were entirely the fault of the players and not Square-Enix. It was the fault of Players who decided to share their items between the Bride and Groom who ended up getting ripped off by their spouse when the relationship went sour. This was not the fault of Square-Enix and as such Square-Enix was not liable for it as they did not make a shared Inventory Space part of the Wedding System in that game.

    I see no reason why Weddings would pose any problem in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

    They're not going to change their minds on implementing things they've already put time and resources into. It's a feature which has been promised since before 2.0 launch, so it's not like they're considering whether or not to do it.

    Stuff like this is part of this genre and you just have to deal with them choosing to add fluff content instead of only focusing on combat.

    You can't say to completely stop marriages from happening. There's actually a good amount of married couples on the game. If they wanna get married in-game as well, then let them!

    Not really...

    For a change, it'd be nice if people who said these things had some facts to back up said claims.

    As for the topic at hand;
    I don't really care one way or another if they add marriage of any sort in game.
    However, if people can't play nice then it shouldn't be added period.

    I agree. I would rather have no marriage at all than have a system that gives plain-right privileges to one group over the other. Just drop the idea.

    To be completely honest, the whole "if I can't have it, no one can" attitude is something people were supposed to grow out of in kindergarten.
