Level 50 Gathering/Challenge log issue/question/suggestion

Actually it's because they are clusters. I tested with the reset and my usual gardening harvesting. G3 soil and seeds (both items that have no HQ) from unspoiled nodes do count to the log. Fragrant logs and umbreal rocks (items that can HQ) from unspoiled nodes do count to the log. Carbonised matter from normal r50 nodes and Clusters (from west Thanalan at the unspoiled dirt node, so not just mor dhona) do not count

So it's not the lack of HQ properties that makes them not register. CM and clusters just don't count. Go figure.

Are the two "Gathering Storm" challenges, dailies? I swear I've gotten credit for them, three days in a row. Not sure if I'm seeing double or what...

There is Gathering Storm (gather 100 times) and Gathering Storm HQ (30 HQ items). A HQ gather would count towards both challanges

They do count - I've just re-tested it this week to be absolutely sure and I was using CM most of the time to complete the achievments (inlucluding lvl50 nodes). It does even include the unspoiled nodes (water clusters and grade 3 soil) in Western Thanalan - I was collecting those whole this week and they all add to the achievement for Thanalan just fine so I really don't understand how are you getting difirent results? It definitelly has nothing to do with lack of HQ - otherwise you'd be unable to use crystals and shards for the achievment as well which are the most commonly use to complete the Luminaries. It was always like this btw.

Uh ... we are talking about the Challenge log. Not Acheivements. And for the record:

The Gathering Storm will now count the collection of shards, carbonized matter, pigments, and timeworn maps.

^ from the patch notes. So we were right, they were not counting towards the challenge log prior to 2.28. So yay for fixing things.
