Climbing Ladders & Swimming

Well I see a bunch of ladders to cool looking places I want to chill at and can't climb, so I want climbing ladders.

Swimming has been discussed and should be coming someday, but who else is in this boat?

Look out, swimming might lead to an entire zone being underwater.

In other words bring on the swimming. Under the seas in RPGs is the place to be.

Echoing this. FFX is actually a really good reference because they used the ocean and underwater areas in that game to incredibly cool, atmospheric effect. Come to think of it, they did the same thing in Chrono Cross.

Altogether, Square has a good track record with this sort of thing.

Have of the problems of the ARR world feeling rather restrictive could probably be fixed with those two things and a little reconstruction. You want to jump off the cliff into that river, be my guest. Might take a while to find the ladder that leads back up though. ...Also, there be treasure in said river...

Unlike the current arena, that may well be incredibly addictive. If done well, I would love this.

A Blitzball where everyone actually controls their characters would be really interesting to play. That's PvP I could get into! It could have different classes, with special abilities going into the crosshotbar and hotbars.

If they add underwater combat, I kind of want something similar to Guild Wars 2, where underwater combat changes abilities. I absolutely loved that, since it was interesting to feel how different combat on land and in water was.
