I don't see why people care so much if this particular event is ever brought back or not.

There are going to be new events coming out all the time.

This is like the one event that would be kind of inappropriate to bring back, since it was basically a commercial for a game that has already come out.

I'm fine with just letting people just be handed out all the relevant items if they want, or if they could go view all the cut scenes and such. But bringing back all the NPCs and events and such for a *third* time (yes it was actually brought back once already for I believe a release of the game on a different platform) is a bit much. The event itself wasn't really that exciting... and there will be new events coming soon that will actually be relevant that if lightning's event came back, would actually interfere with (and prevent a new event from happening).

I can understand the "competitionist" in people wanting to do *everything* there is possible to have ever done in ffxiv:arr, but I'd gladly give you all my lightning event items and experiences just so that this event won't take the place of a fresh new one they could put out instead.... lol

^ this ^ and again ^ this ^ I just fail to see why there's a buttload of threads/posts about people wanting this particular event back again. Seasonal events are seasonal; special crossovers are special; promotions are promotions. End of story. It happened twice, it's run out its course and it's not relevant anymore. Sorry for people who weren't around, but if everything always got released after a few weeks/months, there'd be no point in exclusive content.

Not platform, but region, actually - first the JPN release, then the NA/EU release.

I think it is okay to have limited events that essentially come with their own set of limited awards. It adds some allure to the game as there will be items/achievements/etc... that only players during that time can attain. There is nothing wrong with that.

And lets face it, the event wasn't really that special or interesting outside of the rewards that could be collected.

If Lightning were to come back, I'd rather see them do it right and bring an interesting even to the game as opposed to piggy-backing on the FATE system.

Problem is, the rewards for this event were level 13, basically vanity, and yet you had to be level 45 to complete the whole set. Not everyone was able to do that. I threw as much time at the game as my life would allow on the second run through and still didn't make it to 45 before the event was over.

Same and I really want snows jacket but guess what? Having played MMOS for years and knowing exactly what a LIMITED EVENT IS I knew and know I will never get it. Begging for it because it "isnt fair" is ridiculous. Deal with it.

And some of us did the set once the first time, then made a brand new character and leveled it up to 45 to get the set again before the second event was over. Heck, I went from level 22 (2nd event start) to 45 before the event ended and claimed the remaining items I missed the 1st time. Wasn't particularly hard or difficult or even time consuming :/ Story mode quests and saved exploration for the last push from 40-45. if you save zone/area exploration as best you can until the 30's you get about 20k each explored area and a nice completion bonus when you finish the zone.

Sorry you missed out but they did have the event twice.

Why keep PS4 players in the dark with this? And no, we aren't talking about 1.23 or anything like that, stop being absurd.

We're talking about a major thing that took place in Realm Reborn, that PS4 players will never, ever be able to do, even when they already ran the event a second time when Realm Reborn launched on another platform, aside from PC.

We do not currently have any plans to hold another Lightning Returns: FINAL FANTASY XIII collaboration event, and we do not have any plans to add Lightning’s hairstyle to the Aesthetician or make it available from event vendors.

This is all that matters. Continuously asking for a limited, promotional event that SE has no plans for will not make it magically appear. Give it a rest.

everyone has already told you why. the event had nothing to do with xiv ps4 release, it had to do with the release of xiii-lr in JP & america, hence the reason it happened twice. both releases took place before ps4 release, so there is no xiii-lr for ps4, so no event. how is it that complicated?

also calling people elitist just cuz they happened to be paying customers when a company threw a certain event is using it so loosely as to just giving it a new definition

Alright, I've compiled the feedback on this thread, and it's amazing! Thank you for the responses, though some of you could have been a lot less crass about it. :/

I get why they don't want to run the event again, I was overzealous in praising the 'Event' itself, though, why not make the rewards from the event available? Not to ALL, I'm not expecting SE to just send everybody everything in the mail. Make it craftable, or questable, or something, I don't know.

I got a little excited in the opening post, I'm just feeling a little miffed that SE is being so stingy with bloody hairstyles.

The event can be dead and gone, fine.

Let's make the rewards available somehow, somewhere. Not hand them out, but like, a Vet reward, or a low drop from Coils.
