    old question by new Player after 2.2

    Hello all ok so iam paying as a tank and i am not relly sure what to take to 50 i know this has been ask more then any Q in ffxiv arr but i dont want to wast my time and get to 50 and find out i relly picked bad tank class .right mar is 23 and glad is 10..i played back at lunch and got glad to 24 or so and now that 2.2 is out iam kinda lost..ppl say mar/war holds grop hate better (i can see that) and there much more fun to play. glad/pld takes hits better and way better on 1 on 1 ( i can see that ) my mar/war is so easy to play and idk not relly filling any challenge to it yet..will that change soon? I hear glad is kinda harder but pld is easyer and i just want to be able to go throw the game and not get kicked for tanking the wrong class and i dont want to be like o yeah new fotm even thow there is only 2 tanking classes as of now..so i call to the tanks who know a lot more then me...thx ahead of time all info welcome

    Can't go wrong with either really, each has it's highs and lows. Pick the one you enjoy more.

    Well, if you really want to tank, you should work on both anyways. Along with some of the other classes for the cross-class skills.

    Paladin to 22 is almost a must for provoke. You can do without it, technically, but it helps a lot. Paladin to 8 gives you flash. Right, it is gladiator still at that point.

    Warrior gives foresight at 2 and Bloodbath at 8.

    A bit of monk will help Warrior. A bit of White Mage will help Paladin.

    In the end, it is really preference. Both classes are good and have things that they are good at.
