There are a lot more bad DPS as to good DPS players, why would SE risk alienating their cash cow?
The problem with that (SE's) sentiment is that there are already DPS checks in-the game. Most [if not all] major boss fights have a DPS check that can be tough to meet going in with close to base ilvl requirements, esp. when learning the fight's mechanics. It's a little silly to "shield" players from tools that allow them to review their activity and show them where their performance gaps lie in any one instance, this would help to increase the margin of error for the group as a whole. Considering that any critical errors in execution by one player [during progression] can cause a party wipe, I'd say most people concerned with their group progression welcome any help they can get to genuinely improve.
