Personally, I'm on the fence with the subject. on WoW, I used Recount, primarily to gauge how -I- was doing in comparison to the rest of the group, that's probably not the basic purpose of it, but it helped me improve alot. Parsers aren't a terrible bane on MMOs, like some make them out, they are good, coherent tools to improve. I also agree that people should be able to choose who they play with, and people aren't entitled to be carried, I know if I even FEEL like I didn't perform up to par on a boss fight, I pass on the loot, regardless if it's an upgrade or not.

On the other hand, though, I also agree that it DOES cause a lot of problems. People take things overboard, and that's just as bad as not having it. "constructive" criticism is a great thing, unfortunately, people forget how to do that most of the time "You suck you @#$!ing noob gtfo and uninstall you piece of shit" is never a good way to approach things. It's not being thin or thick skinned, it's a common courtesy, you're not playing with NPCs.

I guess, in the end, if they make them available I'll be happy, if they're not then there's bound to be some -other- means we can track our dps, even if it's a pain in the butt to do so (I've not tried, but could we use combat log to figure it out, judging from x amount of attacks dealing xx amount of damage for y amount of time? and then calculate that way?)

Lol Tanks and Healers are always told how much they suck when they are not up to par and everyone can tell but Heaven forbid a DPS is told they are bad because that is just wrong.

Its like that old Joke how a Fat Whale can call a thin Women any bad thing she wants but if that thin women calls that Whale Fat its the end of the world its a freaking joke

I think having a parser on dummies would help a lot. People can practice their rotation and better themselves. If the can bring that muscle memory for their rotation into fights, that would be a huge improvement. If the party finders ask for insane numbers are best of the best, let them wait. ATM there are lots of party finders asking to link weapon. I think this will be a better criteria

There is a difference between telling someone their damage is lower than it should be and insulting them.

There is already a report function/blist if people were being rude.

Wouldn't strike dummies with a parser help people increase their DPS tho? In a raid the parser wouldn't be available so it only for personal use. ATM people don't know what their DPS is and get burned by insults. The dummies can at least improve their DPS before joining a group.

I love the last paragraph of the translation . That is a great DPS checker! I can't wait to try it out .

This adjustment seems like it would fit in naturally with dummies since they currently serve little purpose..
I think this is a darn good idea, it should be considered.

I don't get their stance on this. If a tank or healer mess up, it's easy to point finger which one is not doing their job but when DPS are not pulling their weights, they decide it's too toxic. *shrug*

Haha I actually have no idea which side of the fence you're on and I don't think we're arguing. I'm actually fine with them not implementing parsers cause most serious raiders already use them and the only use of an official one is that it's standardised and probably more accurate.

there are already third party tools for parsing anyway and to be honest, strict DPS doesn't happen until you do high end content like coil / primals..etc. No need to implement if it further segregates the community. But I agree that it'll be great to allow training dummies to show your DPS numbers.
