Loosing Sound in-game

I started playing on a ps3 and had no issues with the in-game music or sounds ever disappearing, but after I switched to ps4 and did a few Brayflox HM runs, my music started disappearing. First time was after the first boss, but then it would return when the CS before last boss started. Now however I am still on ps4 and the sound also disappears when im in the FC house, or in Ul'dah. If I teleport however, I will then hear the music again, for 15-20 minutes before it just fades and doesn't return.

Just last night actually. I finished a dungeon(haukke manor) with no sound, then rebooted the game afterward.

I know a friend of mine from my FC also has the same thing, but he is on PS3.

I've gotten this playing on PS4 too, started at the end of a Brayflox run and lasted for 30 minutes or so no matter where I ran to

After a bit of Googling it, it seems all that helps atm is exiting the game entirely, then restarting it again. :/
A good number of others also seem to have it, but some i saw had it even on their laptop/pc.

I've also encountered this. Heck, sometimes my PS4 has no sound at all after booting. Even in the main menu outside of a game.

i can't speak for everyone else situation. especially since it was mentioned that users have had this issue on their laptop/pc as well.

but i CAN speak for your occurrence. what this is is a fail on the HDMI link. some TV's have this issue. something about a handshake. the only thing you need to do to resolve this is to turn your display off and then back on. it's an HDMI link issue. not really an issue with the PS4. it is just the way the display communicates through the HDMI link.


though it is possible the others are experiencing the same thing as well. a mis-communication through the HDMI link. a simple turn off and turn on of the display should fix it. it always does for me. but i have never had it occur during mid-game.
