Regardless, if it makes us more viable in end game situations, I'm all for it. As I would be for any other job. Thats how you balance. People shouldn't need to discriminate against different types of jobs for endgame content. Changing a strategy is one thing, but when a job is very obviously behind the others, its time for some balance.

    I do not have a Blm. I leveled Thm for swift-cast and stopped. I see a lot of whining about BF on here. Lots of jealousy over a rather relatively small portion of the game.

    I have *cough* seen parses on T5 where Blm's DPS is closer to the OT Pld below them than Brd above them (forget about Mnk and Drg). Don't people see something wrong with the traditional "glass canon" being the worst DPS in the game? If you forget speed running for a moment, do you really have a problem with Blms getting a slight buff?

    I disagree. I think when balancing every content should be taken into cosideration. Still, based on your response I take it you wouldn't have a problem if when the fix comes your AoE is toned down, since trash is trash. Right? At least we're on the same page, there.

    like i said before, i dont care for aoe, there isnt fights where you just constantly aoe, and hell if there was another one being made, T4 = bad design, and no, you dont take 4 mans into consideration for job balance at all, you cant in theory get all the buffs used and the mechanics dont push all the spell trees in such cases like coil can do.
    Ive never seen once in an mmo where a standard dungeon has been considered for job/class design, its always at end game where they do this. If some aoe happens thats fine, its usually a small portion of a fight as opposed to being a major one.

    Maybe you should get on your BLM, take a look at PF, and see how PT's seek a SMN rather than a BLM simply because they can "do more damage while moving."

    Over 400 with ilvl100 minimum right or pentamelded gear otherwise there's no way to achieve that, while any monk at ilvl100 will do 440+, same for truelly good summoners.

    As I said, drags can do high dps but not exceptionnal one

    I couldn't agree more. Myth farming is generally for animus so by that line of thinking atma farming is just as important and there's no other dps better at this than summoners. Other classes can sweep the mobs fates just fine but summoners are even better at it. They can tag everything with bio and pull out various aoes safely while titan tanks in the middle. But when it comes to boss fates though, nothing even comes close to summoners. Melees can initiate them alone but their damage output is way lower than they could be compared to when someone else is tanking it for them and some bosses are not soloable by them. Same with bard, even more so with black mage. Just too squishy.

    Summoners can take out fate bosses without taking a single damage to themselves AND kill them way faster than any dps can alone. Considering how resilient they are for this content compared to other dps, they shouldn't have a damage output that good. Hell, it's so good, I went as smn to all my atma farming even though my main dps is black mage and I've seen bards, monks, dragoons, black mages slow down and stop in front fate bosses when they know I'm arriving shortly after them just so I can engage them first and we're not even in a party!

    I think a single target dps nerf on smn is in order? Being this tanky is kinda unfair, no?

    You must've missed the mnk and drg buffs after the qq period of 2.1.
