Fair point, lol. I personally haven't done Turn 9. However I have seen videos and can determine that it is partly a DPS race and you do need a lot of movement.
Morzone Vandalfo on Siren
Main job: SCH/MNK
Raid job: Gathering
PS5 based. PSN ID: natek_morzy
i keep hearing people say we are not playing the classes as intended , but what does this mean. What things would be happening specifically , and what "lazy" things would we not be seeing.
When I head this, I fear it means the game would be more boring.
I don't really play my BLM (About as much as I play my SCH, PLD, MNK, SMN, or BRD, or will my DRG once it gets the last 5 levels), but you can't say BLM gets quite a lot of "instant casts" for thundercloud, and firestarter requires roughly a 2:1 cast to instant ratio. Casters are being punished for movement since SE has started to make less AoE that punished melee only (Which is good, IMO), the trick is finding a balance, and this buff (Which doesn't mean a damage % increase, by the way) is part of that. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave BLM a trait that reduced the cooldown of surecast to 15 seconds, and had it allow casting while moving.Damn SE to hell for asking BLM's to manage when and how they deal their massive numbers (sarcasm.) (BLM gets quite a lot of instant casts via Thunder and Fire spells. They also have DoT and an instant cast spell, and swiftfast. Is it so hard to change a spell rotation for a fight? No.)
i think you are all overreacting, right after yoshi talked about the blm buff, he also said that the other dps will be getting the same dps boost
as for not playing your job right... blm is probably tied for 1st place with brd as the simplest job to play in the game lol its not hard to nuke nuke nuke move nuke nuke nuke refill mp nuke nuke move nuke nuke, so accussing everyone of not knowing how to play blm is pretty dumb

just wanna summarize this:
Just be glad that we BLM-ers still can't "cast while moving". lol
When the developing staff says "unintended" it doesn't mean "lazy/stupid/inefficient". They could be implying that the player-base could be, well, playing in a manner that they [the developers] hadn't thought of. It happens in MMOs quite frequently. If a top-end raiding FC finds that it is more efficient in damage output, and time, to stack multiples of a single job, then they will do it. Less competitive FCs follow suit. And they will have the numbers to verify how it is efficient to do so. And when this happens, certain jobs get excluded due to inefficiency. "Yeah, we'd take more of X class if it was more efficient to do so."
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
The summoner in my static averages above 300 dps in Coil due to banes and using ifrit. As it stands Summoner is OP when it comes to damage in current content due to the amount of moving needed to dodge mechanics. I think the devs are partly to blame for making content so movement heavy but atleast their addressing it.BLM should not have good single target damage. Its already far outshining all jobs in AoE damage. Thats what BLM is for... AoE.
You bring a BLM to up AoE damage, you bring MNK/DRG for single target, and you bring BRD and SMN for additional mechanics. (Such as mages ballad or having a pet for conflagrations in turn 5 etc etc.)
If you keep asking for these ridiculous buffs to each job, then we'll end up with every dps being exactly the same minus Animations and Cosmetics.
Is this basically what you guys want?
Find it funny you poke at warriors for getting a buff, because warrior players were unskilled enough to compete with paladin? What a ignorant assumption for the buff. You main warrior, you should understand better than anyone why warrior was broken in its current form. Hardly any mitigation, only defensive stat scaling with hp restore, not incoming damage. There was a reason warrior received the biggest buff of any job currently, its because it NEEDED it, not just because the community couldn't play it. Yoshi refers to the wrath stack mechanic being misused, but because it tied in directly to your "mitigation" and cure potency, it became a mess to try to balance out the two, While paladin could just pop a CD and do it more efficiently every time.
Its very very very unfortunate that people cant play the game correctly and need echo bonus's and dps output bonus' even after Square-Enix themselves properly balanced the content for each job if played correctly..
If we specifically go back to why they buffed Warrior Yoshi himself said "We balanced turn 1 so that a Paladin and Warrior would be less likely to survive after 3 stacks, but because the way the community plays warrior, the warrior is unable to complete turn 1, so we have made the needed changes." So now warrior is much more like PLD with its "defensive" buffs instead of healing buffs as it originally was planned to be, because the community doesnt play their jobs correctly. Very unfortunate.
Warrior buffs were well justified, not just because 2.0 warriors were unskilled.
We live together, we cuddle together!-Lalafell for life!
