How about fixing the damn elemental resistence system so fire doesn't do more dmg to ifrit than ice does?

while you guys fixing blm issue, could fix Bane for smn and sch, dots dmg dont scale with Item Level gears as DPS attacks, they have static value, the most DPS Aoe can hit all mobs around if they are in range, however Bane effect just hit a limited number of enemies, please let Bane hit everything instead, a blm will cast fire II a coule times before you can finish your dots and use bane and they still deal a lot more dmg there
Wtf are you talking about? Of course a BLM will do more AOE damage, that's their strength atm. You want SMN to have better AOE abilities, to put it on par with BLM? Not only do they have far superior single target DPS (which is their intended usage) but you want equal AOE, too? Then what would be the point of using BLM? Not to be a grammar nazi, but all commas? Also, if dots didn't scale with item level, then an i50 smn would do the same dps as an i100 smn. SMN do some of the best dps in the game, have relatively good AoE, and have amazing utility in that you are the only dps that can raise. You guys are fine.
That wasn't what he was saying. He wants Bane to scale a bit better in regards to hitting *more* mobs the higher ilevel/level you get, or to hit *unlimited* mobs with DoT's. Mind you, this would be *broken as hell* because it would spread full-potency ST DPS to all mobs, but it was his point.
The only way to make that truly work would be to have it so the DoT's are spread at a % potency across all mobs. Which in that case, you're better off giving Summoners a new skill to go alongside Bane. Where Bane spreads full-potency to 'up to 3', they could get another AoE (Scourge, Plague, etc.) that spreads it at reduced-potency (If we assume maximum pull, we could say it could be at 33% potency, thus if you hit more than 9 mobs, it's a net-gain, which is speedrun standard.)
I don't think SE anticipated us pulling so much AoE in such large numbers. Summoner's AoE in any end-game content right now is actually really good - because there's usually not a reason to hit more than 3 other mobs.
As someone who actually plays Black Mage and is currently in T8 let me make a few things clear. Black Mage has the LOWEST single target damage out of all the dps classes even when NOT moving. If you had the best player of each class and allowed the black mage to stand still the entire time they would still be last place in dps.
However, I realize that there will always be a last place I just think it shouldn't be the black mage class as we have the lowest damage and the lowest amount of utility. Our class is only good for damage and yet it has the worst damage it doesn't even make any sense. Movement isn't the biggest issue as skill can compensate for this. Yes, we have good aoe, but that isn't very useful for high level raiding. In my opinion our THEORETICAL single target damage should be around that of a summoner. Currently Summoners have better utility, less penalty while moving, and much greater damage please give people a reason to use the "other" caster class.
I've noticed that more so than before as we progress on turn 8. The initial burst of BLM can be pretty impressive but as the fight continues they drop further and further behind, well, pretty much everyone else XD BLM can do some pretty tasty burst with RNG procs and consumables/buffs. It's their sustained single target DPS which is a major weakness, not to mention if RNG gives you the finger with procs, your DPS pretty much sucks even moreAs someone who actually plays Black Mage and is currently in T8 let me make a few things clear. The BLM is a terrible class no matter how you look at it. Outside Speedflox it's a class that is outshined by pretty much any other DPS. Low single target damage, VERY STATIC damage and what is even worse, extremely unreliable. Like 30% of your total damage depends on random procs, it's a ridiculous dumb class that is only played for the big numbers and because people feel cool spamming flare, but efficiently speaking, it's absolute trash tier. Even if they buff it a bit it will prob still be terrible.
