You start of by saying in effect, that most here posting have no idea about BLM.I wonder how many people posting in here have both the cross class skills the Blm can get, and has used the job enough to base their "experience" on wisdom, not "what they saw in a few fights."
The biggest issue I have as a full time Blm with all cross class skills available to Blm in it's entirety is the cone based area that Blm has to attack. If the monster moves outside of that for any reason, you lose all the casting time you spent. If the monster dies before you're done casting, all that casting time is wasted. If you MOVE, all that casting time is wasted. THAT imho is what needs to change. Everything else is just fine.
You then say that casting LoS is the main reason BLM do less DPS (It's not).
If you were as experienced as you claim, surely you have a /facetarget macro on your BLM to counter the LoS issue? :P (any half decent BLM will have minimal issues with LoS casting)
In a totally stationary fight with no moving at all, BLM does he lowest damage, when equally geared and skilled, raw damage is the issue. Yet it does not need a massive buff, just a small buff to raw DPS would help a lot.

This wont help decent BLM's at all.
Movement is not the issue, raw single target dps is.
Damage during movement heavy fights is one of the things that separates a good BLM from a bad one.

What is considered low single target dps? Most groups I've been in who know how to play BLM usually end up around 2nd or 3rd on the list, or under a good MNK. I'm not seeing an issue with that. Most of the time I see more BLM who don't know their rotations(such as f3 > flare at full mp, then stand around for a bit), or lower their dps by waiting to see if FS procs.
I don't agree that BLM should have equivalent to a good melee(maybe DRG). Though a good SMN and BLM are pretty much very close to each other in terms of average damage. MNKs have to stop dps in order to move out of AOEs and position themselves properly for their full potential, BLMs don't and the only thing they have to worry about it a heavy movement battle, which a good BLM can do well on also. I believe even if they boosted BLM's damage slightly, it probably wouldn't make a difference since a lot of the BLMs I've played with damage isn't really an issue.

Third time's the charm? My yiwu zen SMN can deal almost equal damage to my weathered laevataeinn BLM on single target dummy without moving and I dont even use smn seriously while I take my blm (which isnt even that good apparently) to coil. That's a 3 weapon magic damage difference right there, by the way.

They are gonna Nerf flare so the can boost fire III, keeping the balance.
The nerf to flare is pretty much a given
I wonder how many BLMs would trade off multi-flare power for more single target dmg.Black mage is purely meant for DPS, and the focus of the adjustments will be centering around increasing their overall DPS on single targets. However, as they are already very powerful when it comes to AoE DPS, they would become too powerful if we just boosted their single target DPS.
