Low Benchmark Score : Can I play this game?

Hi. My cousin is looking to play the game and the pc is his only option. He has a below average laptop and upon doing the benchmark with low settings he only scores about 1,700 or so. Does he have any hope for a reasonable playing experience? Please let me know your thoughts, thank you.

Do you know the actual specs for the laptop? processor, ram, video card? If it's using something like intel hd video for the video card that will probably be an issue.

I used to have a laptop with almost those specs. The game may load, but it probably won't play well. I would expect very low frame rates of 5-10 fps range. The Intel HD Graphics are the big problem. It's not a real graphics card but a chip that makes the main processor work as the video card as well. Since it's a laptop there is also not a real good way to fix this other than replacement.

I cannot maintain 30 FPS after turning down every setting below the lowest. I'd drop to 15 FPS w/e lots of effects came on the screen. In addition... the machine horribly overheats after a few hours of playing.

Best bet would be pickup a PS4 and PS4 copy, cheapest route to get a machine that can play this. The PS4 supports the same K/B and Mouse setup as the PC version

Umm a PS3 would likely be much cheaper. A ps3 is about 300.00 usd cheaper than ps4 from quick browsing gamestop.

Well ps3 plays well. My wife plays on it currently while I use the computer. The graphics look the same pretty much, it's just a little awkward at times to drop the controller to switch to the keyboard to type. PS3 does have a component video cable as well so not having an hdmi plug shouldn't be an issue.

Yah I started on ps3 at open beta but swapped to pc so i don't know how well it performs, but i'll take your word for it. It seems like that's the only real option at hand. Thanks for your help everyone. I appreciate it.

You can find a cheap ps3 on Craig's list or eBay without a working disk drive and just buy the digital version of the game if a disk drive doesn't concern him.
