How/where to check servers' populace and max numbers.

Hello,all.
Might already be a thread about this,but I'm new and there are tons of them to scroll through...
This thread is mostly made for me to help a friend who failed to transfer his character from the Ps3 to 4. Saying that my server is now full,so he is unable to get back in here. Can someone tell me where and how to check one's server's (and others) current ammount of players and the maximum number it can contain? That would be real helpful info for me to bring to him.

Well, Square Enix regularly updates the current server population every six hours or so on the Lodestone, so that can give you an indication on whether it will be possible to create or transfer a character to your server. Interestingly, it says your server (Sargantanas) is currently open, so it's possible your friend might be able to get on now. If not, just keep checking the Lodestone regularly for updates on server population. Good luck!

Servers are only temporarily closed for character creation/transfers based on how many characters are logged in at the time, so if he tries during late night or early morning he can probably succeed.

I upgraded PS3 to PS4 but didn't read about that.

Thanks for replies. I have often tried to search through Lodestone,but all I found so far is the window showing the servers' status (available or under maintence),not the number of players and the maximum ammount allowed in them. But will hopefully find it somehow. ^_^

I was wondering server populations too. I remember XI allowing you to view current populations on your server when logged in. I'm on a fairly crowded server atm and so far I haven't had any problems logging in at peak hours so I'm not sure if there's necessarily a cap to how many existing characters can be logged on at one time, I think the cap is just for creating new characters or transferring onto the server during that timeframe. I've only been playing for a couple weeks so I'm just going off of what I've observed and I could be wrong.

Here's a tip, try making/transfer your chara on non peak hours.
