Still new, still got tons of questions

I started playing about 1-2 weeks ago and I'm so far 42, but from what my FC in framfrit tells me you're still a noob 'till 50, and so I'm here to ask some nooby questions!

1.There are so many crafting classes. Blacksmith, weaver, goldsmith, etc. I'm having trouble identifying their differences exactly. Can anyone explain?

    2. I've heard talk of obtaining mythology stones at lv45 to get some badass looking armor. What are the ways of obtaining these stones, and what's the fastest way? How long would that take?

    3. Company seals. They can give decent armor at low level, and you get some cool outfits and can dress up your chocobo. Is there anything else I should be saving them up for in particular?

    4. Is leveling alt classes easier than main? It feels faster. .

    5. Outside of the friends I knew before I started playing, I haven't really made any new friends. I'm in framfrit and for the most part people seem a bit unsociable. Though it could just be me. Anyone have similar experiences?

And any tips, advice or gestures would be greatly appreciated!

1: the difference is they make different things ideally you'll level them all up together for various reasons.

2: Beastman daily quests and dungeons. Can't earn them quickly, or even use the armor, until 50.

3: dark matter and ventures. The high level armor is underwhelming.

    4: Yes

5: Might be easier when you're 50 and do endgame with folks.

pre 50 dungeon tomes have been removed as of patch 2.2 I believe. some used to give philosophy, but since that currency is gone, i doubt it was replaced with myth due to the conversion.
If you unlocked beastmen dailies, you can do them for myth. 1st rank gives 5 each quest, 2nd 7, and 3rd 10 with the occasional 3 soldery instead. you can do 6 beastmen dailies a day. so 30 for the 1st 10 days, 36 for the 2nd 10 days, and 31-51 for the last 10 days and on.
you can get your lvl 45 artifact armor peices from your job quest giver.

nothing really. can sell the coke and potash for some gil. everything else is housing/vanity for chocobo. the armor is okayish. so if you are leveling other jobs and need gear then it can fill in for now.

yes and no. any job below your main will gain a 50% exp bonus. if you used up all your quest you are forced to only use leves, hest, dungeons, and fates mostly for your exp

When I started I had the same thing, though fate grinding was the big thing and I made some friends that way. Used the forums to gain fc members and met friends in a static. it took some time but i made a good group of friends.

dont rush the endgame. make sure to learn your job. try and get all the cross class skills that will be useable for your job.
there is a lot of info on the web, a quick search will go a long way.
do try to make good friends or get into a helpful fc. you will build bonds and learn faster if they have experience.
    lastly. have fun

    1. The differences involve what they are able to create, and the abilities they gain. For instance, a weaver creates cloth-related pieces of gear for casting classes, and gains an ability that guarantees a successful attempt. This is incredibly helpful with other classes when trying to get the best synth possible. Any crafting class is able to gain the lvl50 ability from another, so it gets progressively easier to successfully HQ synths. Also, you are only able to add materia to pieces if you have the corresponding craft leveled (or ask someone who has it leveled already).

    2. You obtain the stones from daily beast tribe quests, treasure hunts and dungeons. At your level, you will get very few at a time; none of these gives very much. At lvl50, when you have access to the Story, Expert, and High Level Duty Roulettes, you will acquire them much faster, in addition to tomestones of soldiery for even more gear. It's important that you understand your primary stats, accuracy caps, etc for certain fights so you know the proper way to mix and match these items.

    3. That is pretty much what you would use them for. They will eventually be used to rank up even further, but I wouldn't worry too much about that. You also use them to buy Ventures to send your retainers on gathering missions, which is pretty cool.

    4. Only after your first job gets to 50; you will get a slight bonus to exp. Otherwise, it is probably simply due to the fact that you're just doing something different so it feels fresh.

    5. This is a constant debate with the current state of MMO's. People are often concerned with clearing the dungeons and being on their way, however you can be just as much of a part of creating conversation as anyone else. Participate in group events, join a good FC/LS, create conversations yourself, etc. You will more than likely get as much out of it as you put into it.

Your FC is correct in saying the real game starts at lvl50, as you are technically still improving through the iLVL system, and there is a very strong progression system to that. Go at the pace you feel comfortable with and enjoy the ride, there is plenty to look forward to
