Anybody else as curious/excited as I am for this? :0 what could it be? Just travel to parts of Eorzea? Lol, a big eye spy sort of thing?

Will probably/hopefully involve getting to really obscure locations. Ie jumping puzzles etc.
Will LOL big time if they include "obtain a birds eye view of Revenant's Toll" (climbing on that wire) xD
Probably something like GW2's thing. :I
What's that?
GW2 had a thing, has a thing I should say, where you had to get to certain Vantage Points throughout a designated area to complete a special log. I forget the rewards for it now, been awhile. But some of the locations were quite tricky to get to. They were in the cities and in the field as well. It was rather interesting trying to get them all.
Will also add, when you got that point, a small icon would pop up above your head where you could select it and it would pan out a small video for like 30 seconds showing you the surrounding landscape from that particular vantage point, so that you could take it all in.
Ah, the Vistas. They were part of your 100% world map completion (probably my favorite thing about that game), which was one of the things you needed to get a legendary weapon in that game.GW2 had a thing, has a thing I should say, where you had to get to certain Vantage Points throughout a designated area to complete a special log. I'm all for adding world exploration/jumping puzzle stuff in FF14, but if they make them as difficult as some of GW2's stuff, I'm going to be raging at the lack of midair jumping control this game currently has - it really makes platforming frustrating.![]()

Methinks Assassin's creed was one of the first adventure games to make this a fun challenge, but I could be wrong.Ah, the Vistas. Would be nice to see this. All of the "unintended" vantage points I would doubt we will see those as criteria... Jumping through ceilings... etc
I wouldn't mind some "jumping puzzles" though.
I think this would be amazing :3
it would help bring attention to actual landmarks or places on maps too. Like the great view of wanderer's palace Outer La Noscea. I never knew that was WP until someone mentioned it since you don't really get that great of a view of it in Camp Bronze Lake where you unlock it (or rather I don't find it to be that great of a view from Camp Bronze Lake). It would give people a reason to use their camera to look around more too. When I first played I wanted to see EVERYTHING. But since a lot of places lacked a great view like the one of WP from Outer La Noscea I ended up not taking a second glance at the scenery anymore. Not that I dislike the scenery or anything, I find it all beautiful! but I mean there's not many stunningly amazing views like that one xD
Could just be my tastes are too picky though.
The unique perspective of Touhou in my own words and why it is different from the typical game or manga c:
