Scholar gimped by macros?

Few questions about scholars.

Well a few basic ones, what exactly does steady do? Does it not allow your pet to do anything unless you give it a command? I always use obey, so I always kind of question what steady actually does.

So, if my pets in obey, it will still cast embrace when a teammate is low right? If so, you will always have to deal with waiting for your pet at some points in order to give it commands.

My main questions: Do macros gimp you as a scholar; if so, how? I use adlo+embrace, and physik+embrace, then I combined rouse and whispering dawn. The feys I just press manually and use them at the same time usually, but I notice I have to wait forever for them to activate sometimes, I guess because EOS is embracing someone.

I was reading reddit earlier and there was a lot of down voting on a guy who used similar macros that I use. I saw the macros on mr happys sch guide, and am new to healing, so Ive just always used these macros.

Im getting more interested in my scholar now so Im trying to be as effective as possible.

Oh, and I used to have the feys on a macro together, but it seemed to take forever and distracted me from healing. Are there any skills that require EOS to be right next to you? Because I noticed with fey EOS would fly over to me then cast them. Or, did this happen because I had EOS on heel? Should I be placing my pet somewhere to prevent skill delays from occurring?
