    changing recipes? So I can spam standard the same way with different ingredients? WOO HOO.
    I especially love "dark matter" - lets make crafting even more generic! That's not a change for crafters- that is a change for whiny DoW/DoM that couldn't get repairs cause they were offering a reward of 100 gil for an item that took an iron plate.

    Increased gathering SP on the same 2 leves that have been in the game since day 1. WOO HOO.

    I'm talking about actual additions and changes to gathering classes, not giving them an exp boost (on the same 2 leves we've been doing for months) that will probably STILL see them make a quarter of the exp on a similar level leve as a DoW/DoM.

    The materia system isn't going to change the role of these classes in any way. It is simply going to add more items for them the gather and craft the same way they are already gathering and crafting. That's not a change.

    With all due respect, just because SE is not adding the things or changes that some people want doesn't mean they are ignoring crafters. They are adding and fixing things. Whether or not those things coincide with an individual's preferences is irrelevant.

    You again? Materia will change their role considering it will make them more necessary. It is a new mechanic that enhances the need for them, I'd consider that changing things. Adventurers will rely on crafters to slot materia who will rely on gatherers to provide the catalyst. It's a lot different from regular crafting considering no matter what the item it will ALWAYS be in constant demand.

    Also while Harvest Moon is pretty popular I prefer Rune Factory (A fantasy Harvest Moon) as it actually adds combat/dungeon crawling to the mix. Those games have gained quite a bit of popularity considering they've made 4 in recent memory with another on the way.

    What I am asking for is some more depth to the classes. Hell, even a few different mini games for gathering different kinds of nodes - but more so for crafter/gatherer specific content and skills. Not new recipes and things to gather in the exact same way (although new stuff is always welcome).

    No, we shouldn't be able to fight (except alchemists, I think there could be a role for them in battle if SE had some imagination) but each class should feel different from the other and learn some tricks and open some things up that other classes can't.

    For example, it would be totally awesome if fishers could do a quest (which involved getting rare/ex hard to get fish and shellfish from different kinds of nodes with different challenges) to get a row boat and be able to travel to some of the little islands and fish for more exotic species. They could also carry players to these otherwise inaccessible islands.

    Botanists could get access to gardening and the ability to graft trees and get more of what they want from them in terms of wood/fruit etc. They could also know hidden groves that other players can't see and access - but be able to lead them to these special places.

    Miners could have a quest to gain access to mines otherwise closed off from players, and the ability to guide other players through the subterranean depths.

    For these examples - to avoid screams from DoW/M - they could be largely useless for non gathering classes to enter - so for the most part it would be fishers taking botanists to an island to gather rare herbs, or miners leading fishers into the deeps to catch rare fish. The gathering classes quests could tie them together.

    If DoW/DoM could stop feeling like they're the only classes allowed to have cool quests and depth to them, it would be cool to use DoL to lead parties to these places for special quests as well. I know that probably won't happen though because DoW/M would complain about having to work together with non battle classes. Which I don't understand...

    jw, is the party adjustments aka: everything from xp chain bonus to adjustment of mobs and spawns this update or later? Its going to be a bit odd if its not til later, im not big on soloing so it would be nice to have somthing else to get me to those raid levels.

    I defeated 3 Garlean Soldiers as an Alchemist and I think it wouldn't have been as much fun if I had a combat class and simply smashed their faces in.

    It's pretty much the same with everyone actually. Trying to fight them normally would be pretty foolish >.>
