speaking of legacies, this is something I've been wondering recently. Something that I might take it granted without realizing...

Back in 1.0, for legacies resides in US/EU region, how was the latency back then?

If I recall back then, all servers are located in JP, no? Think that also includes the back-then newly introduced Ragnarok which are designated for EU community.

My memories hasn't been really clear, but... I do remember that 1.0 gameplay mechanic wasn't as precision-wise as ARR nowadays. And so... did many experience problem of lag when facing either Garuda HM or Rivenroad?

This is just general wonderment since I realize that the new gameplay mechanic were actually making a rift between regions. I'm not really blaming it since I admit, Titan (for one) was kinda fun. But the problem between latency itself has somehow created an urge for players so that in the end they don't have any choice but to move to closer regional server, or take additional measures. English speaker has been now almost literally separated on their own comfortable regional server, while the rest of SEA community are now being unintentionally forced to relocate into a more closed communities residing in one particular server, thus adding the language barrier as another major staple. Those who are still staying, in this case: Masamune server, are ppl who has considerate amount of JP language understanding. But from what I read, they somehow got into secluded community and getting in touch with JP has created risks in which making sure that they doesn't feel too 'gaijin'.

As of now, I'm checking the quantity of discussion between US/EU forum & JP's, and it was astounding! So many on each NA/EU forums, while many on JP server forum doesnt even exceeds more than 10 topics. Even each legacies barely making past 30 topics, with only Masamune making a contrast amount of more than 150 topics. And even more with Tonberry, which now has 450+ topics. But even with the combined amount of topics between Masamune & Tonberry cannot even beat the majority amount of each of NA/EU server forums.

All of this leads me to these questions: What is the point of MMO, if I can't touch with many ppl with different backgrounds? Does MMO really different than LAN party? Or even offline games?

It was pretty bad for some, the main issue was that it added onto the natural server delay we had due to how the server code was designed. It could be worked around for sure, but it was easily noticeable.

There's a reason for this. Some may not have played 2.0 beta, some may not remember either. The English forums had FAR more threads than the Japanese forums did. I mean within like a day or two even. We hit the thousands and the JP side was barely at a hundred or so. If you look at the rules we have for the forums, mainly the ones to search for an existing thread and such, the Japanese players tend to follow that more than English speaking players do. They also, in my experience, tend to post less "junk" threads. I say junk, not as in they're totally worthless, but say, not too relevant to the forum or game itself.
