Community divide in Legacy servers

I want to bring to your attention the community divide that is present in most legacy servers, mainly split between English speaking players and Japanese speaking players, I want to know if this is as bad in other legacy servers as it is in mine

Below i organized my thoughts or responses to posters in this thread based on subject

(please note from here on i can only provide comments and photos [by request] from my own experience from masamune)

On Masamune i would hazard a estimate ratio of 30:70 En/Jp speaking players, and for some reason the japanese players have no love at all for any English players, while this wasnt such a bad thing before 2.2 its becoming increasingly worse as time/content comes out

Party Finder
Log into Masamune during Prime hours and you will find roughly 30 parties in the PF looking for members.
"But Mysha thats a great thing! your server is alive and running content"
Only if your client is in Japanese or your skills at typing in Japanese appear to be native, 70% of the parties in PF have "JP Only" in their comment section, yes even for brayflox speed runs, if you join one, god forbid you do, and the leader searches your information you will either get an instant kick (due to Client language being E ) or later in the run itself you will be booted for harassment/afk

Duty Finder
Duty finder is basically the same as PF, just the other day i tried to help a friend do levi extreme only to get booted from the group because i said the word "黒魔道士"[BlackMage] (Jp players shorten it to the word "黒", Fail on my part)

Kick System
Wasn't there suppose to be code in place to prevent the abuse of the kick system? Or does the code not think there's something wrong when its the same player being kicked for different reasons

Free Company/Linkshells

Sadly FC and LS fall under the standard English problem that English players always do to themselves, "Full Static" or "Its a waste of our time to gear another player as an alternative" or "We don't want to teach you"

Server Transfer
Why not you ask? 18USD is my answer, that's far to much, for me and a few friends

I'm looking for suggestions on how to improve this situation, or even someone who is native Japanese to explain the stigma that afflicts the general population (I understand that the Japanese people have xenophobia, however is it really this bad?)

TL/DR Masamune is a hostile environment for EN speakers, Looking for suggestions on fixing this problem, or those who have similar issues in other legacy servers

Masamune is a japanese server? If you were on an NA/EU server would you be more inclined to party with English speaking people or Japanese?

Kick System

There never was any code to prevent abuse. You are supposed to report the offending players if they abuse vote kick. And yes something should happen. The GMs take that stuff very seriously.

I think this is more of a problem with JP servers in general rather than legacy servers. We don't have this issue on sarg which is probably because its an NA server.

As you no doubt read, not everybody is willing to fork out more than a full month's subscription fee for something like a server transfer.

Migrate to Tonberry. I was from Masamune. First thing I did when migrated to Tonberry, open the Party Finder, and there's ENGLISH words! omfgwow! Another fact is, the JP use {Can you speak Japanese?} instead of JP ONRY. (There are still JP only PFs).

Funny thing was, my coil team all agreed to migrate Tonberry because we can't find 2 replacement for our team since most the english player in masamune already have a static. However, when we were in Tonberry, we recruited 2 japanese into our static lol. (they join us during the first day, endure the full 90 mins wipe with us in T6. 2nd day we PF again, the same 2 joined! we were surprised since we did wipe the full run the day before. Well, we won it on that day, and they join our static.

It is the same on any JP server. Sometimes I wonder if the data centers were created in part due to the JP communities request that they exclude other languages from DF/PF. I do understand that EN speakers in AUS/SEA find the JP servers easier to deal with when it comes to lag, so suggesting they move to a NA server isn't doing much for them (cost of transfer besides). But to an extent... those of us who remain on JP servers (and are not in AUS/SEA)... aren't we doing it partly to avoid the NA server trolls? ^^; Sooo... it's not really any surprise that, within the JP data centers, they want to exclude EN speakers? I have had one (ONE) super friendly coil party that I gathered from the PF on my server (we danced in t2 ^^). Afterwards, I invited one JP speaker to our EN LS. She didn't know there was an EN community on Atomos and she said that she thought all EN speakers were "assholes" because that was her experience in the DF. ^^;;

tl;dr: Stereotypes suck. Not much you can do about it.

eta2: Tonberry, like Masamune, has a high EN population. On my data center, it also has a bad rep for trolls. >.>'

Actually, many NA/EU people asked for servers over not in Japan, while we were still playing 1.0.

There's only 2 things you can do.

1) Server transfer (which you have stated you don't want to spend the money for)

Or

2) Start a new character in a different server.

Obviously if you're choosing the "I don't want to pay extra to transfer servers", then its either a new character for you and your friends or be stuck in your server. There's nothing the game can do to help you. The tools are there, now its a matter of whether you will use them or not.
