Community divide in Legacy servers

I have avoided PF because of this whole jp only thing for the most part. And have only relied on either df or fc runs.

Easy for some folks to say just transfer, it is not as though we picked the jp server for the jp people. We just live closer to the jp data center and the latency is much better there than if we were in na eu servers. :| not to mention the timezone difference. Not waking up at 4am just to raid, no thanks.

Sorry to hear about that OP, I think ideally we EN players in Masamune should be helping each other out instead of shunning inexperienced players.

At the moment, our static is helping / training some of our members who have yet to clear titan x and turn 5.

I know in a recent NZ gamer interview with Yoship (from his Australian media tour) he did say he was quite aware of the latency/language issues Oceanic players face, he stayed up til 4am doing titan. He said an Aussie data centre would be expensive however next time they add new servers he was going to look at the issue again.

this isn't new news happened in FFXI. Remember responses from Japanese players using auto translate with things like English, No thanks.
We were given separate servers for a reason.

Unfortunately, there's new issue called latency. This not even really big problem in XI since so far I haven't experience any content there that requires precision moving, but it does in XIV. There's no XIV Titan in XI.

Again, I would really rather play at US/EU server, but for crying out loud... fix that damn latency! ><

I say this once again: It is simply people wanting to play with others who understands. I know I am "racist" against french people who refuse to speak english even though I only have the English box checked. If someone join on the premise they can speak English I expect them to speak english. just like when people asks for XPd only do not want people who are first timers to join.

It is really really simple like that. If someone can speak English I do not care from where they are, but if they can't, sorry bro.

From my own experience,if u can speak japanese to a certain degree,and looking for a mixed jp+english environment or just a server with better latency,i would highly recommend transferring to tonberry. Compared to what i've heard about masamune,the jp community on tonberry tend to be much more open minded.

Yes,i did come across one or two jerks as group leaders who kicked "gaijin"s regardless of the fact that they could speak decent japanese;but most of the groups will accept english players as long as they can at least understand enough japanese to communicate,or even someone there to translate for them.

Apart from overcoming the language barrier,the thing is that u should prepare yourself before joining jp pugs if possible,since they have their own ways to deal with fights(i.e. garuda ex,turn 8) There r lots of blogs giving out strats about fights,and the most stable and efficient ones will become their orthodox methods within a month or so,even pugs can consistently down fights up to turn8 on tonberry now.

Personally I downed turn 8 and headed into turn 9 with a jp+eng mixed static early on after 2.2 launch on another account,although my schedule changed dramatically afterwards,forcing me to left that group,i can still down turn 8 with pugs every week on both accounts while squeezing some time to practice turn 9 a bit.

I cant say much about english groups on tonberry since i rarely join those,but there r also many turn 8 and beyond pugs hanging round in PF these days.

Seriously, I have almost zero knowledge of jp language. It's not something ppl can learn instantly.

funny... I'm pretty sure WoW latency solution have been mentioned quite alot. Yoshi himself even took WoW as his inspiration.
And yeah, I know it doesn't exactly fix distance, but I remember it manages to fix in a certain way, that lag difference was very minimize.

I would like to say this, one of the deciding factors in my refusal to jump ship as it were, is that my FC has one of the first Large houses on this server in the goblet (ward 1) we worked our butts off to earn that and it has sentimental value to me, the other thing is that combined total is around 10 active players from my fc and close LS group who have been discussing moving, to move this many players @ 18usd each is expencive, unless one of you previous posters saying 18usd isnt much want to donate for such a large group?

im trying a solution that was sent to me via /tell in game, opening a pf and asking them to join me instead, we will see how this goes ill try it for a few weeks

one of the other perks that i should mention to staying on masamune, 0 gold sellers, i havent gotten a /tell from a gold seller since 3 weeks after launch, and this server is far cheaper (friend claimed after checking tonberry/leviathan/few NA) then any alternatives we have checked.
