On Masamune. I agree with OP. It's downright hostile towards foreigners... been contemplating the move to a different server for a while.

You know that word can be use as an insult? :I
Also, yeah judging by your post and Zylo's.
Think you need to go ahead, talk with your friends and try to save up.
I agree, nearly $20 is kinda steep, but it'll be a breath of fresh air to find a new
FC and server that's much nicer than the hell hole you seem to be in. x:
sigh... I've been trying to point out that it's not about the fee. Heck, I could even pay entire FC to move out if I want to. 18 bucks is nothing compared to the larger sacrifice ppl had to make. Read my previous post. There are even more I can point out for the losses, but those will have to do for now.
I have to agree that Masamune is being increasingly hostile to non-japanese
Point: I speak Japanese quite a bit, i could join "JP only" party with no problem because they only meant Japanese language
But the other day, i got kicked out of the party because he did not feel comfortable playing with a foreigner, even if i understood and replied to everything said
he then made in the party finder "japanese people only" in Japanese
It was first time i saw it and i felt a bit shocked.
if you have no static on Masamune, it's hard to progress further
And I start to agree that for all the English speakers in Asia and Oceania, might be better of moving to Tomberry at some point... sad

If they hadn't split Masamune and Tonberry apart in the duty finder and then kept locking content out of the duty finder it probably wouldn't of been so bad pugging and English party. But sadly, it's probably only going to get worse for you on Masamune. There's a fairly steady stream of people transferring from Masamune to Tonberry to enjoy a much more English tolerant server. Sure it's expensive and a complete pain when trying to transfer with a decent amount of gil (particularly when your entire FC ups and moves all at once) but it's so much nicer being able to instantly get a party then to deal with the increasingly hostile population back on Masamune.
not to mention that some might have their FC housing invested too much. lolIf they hadn't split Masamune and Tonberry apart in the duty finder and then kept locking content out of the duty finder it probably wouldn't of been so bad pugging and English party. If $18 is an issue then wow. That is cheaper than most MMO's I've seen.

This sort of thing really merits a ban... preferably permanent. Really disgusts me when racism is essentially condoned in a MMO.I have to agree that Masamune is being increasingly hostile to non-japanese

The problem OP is you are on a JP server not a legacy server. On Sargatanas there is nothing but English groups in party finder like 30+ at prime time, and English speakers in duty finder. It makes sense that JP players want to play with people who can speak their language in a game where communication is important. A lot of people have a hard time when everyone speaks the same language.
Based on what I saw from day one in FFXI and have continued to see and hear in XIV, I have to disagree with this. Don't get me wrong, I've played with lots of non-xenophobic JPs and was even part of a JP LS for a while in XI despite not speaking a lick of Japanese myself, but the root of the JP only problem isn't a matter of language it's a matter of race. This is why you see "JP ONLY" on even the simplest fights with no communication whatsoever. In contrast, I have not once, in over a decade since FFXI was released, ever seen an "ENGLISH ONLY" group and I have never seen a JP booted from a party for not speaking any English. The problem OP is you are on a JP server not a legacy server.
