It is the same on any JP server. Sometimes I wonder if the data centers were created in part due to the JP communities request that they exclude other languages from DF/PF. I do understand that EN speakers in AUS/SEA find the JP servers easier to deal with when it comes to lag, so suggesting they move to a NA server isn't doing much for them (cost of transfer besides). But to an extent... those of us who remain on JP servers (and are not in AUS/SEA)... aren't we doing it partly to avoid the NA server trolls? ^^; Sooo... it's not really any surprise that, within the JP data centers, they want to exclude EN speakers? I have had one (ONE) super friendly coil party that I gathered from the PF on my server (we danced in t2 ^^). Afterwards, I invited one JP speaker to our EN LS. She didn't know there was an EN community on Atomos and she said that she thought all EN speakers were "assholes" because that was her experience in the DF. ^^;;

tl;dr: Stereotypes suck. Not much you can do about it.

Actually, many NA/EU people asked for servers over not in Japan, while we were still playing 1.0.

Yes, but I am speaking of the change to data centers. Before, the DF pulled from wherever. Anyone remember which month they did this? Oct? Nov? I forget... ^^;

No, JP and NA/EU were still split. The change just broke each of the two into smaller sets. NA/EU servers never DF'd with JP servers.

NA/EU players have been asking for NA servers since FFXI NA release. So SE's long been aware of the request. And it's as much a latency issue as it is a "get away from JP onry" parties issue.

There's only 2 things you can do.

1) Server transfer (which you have stated you don't want to spend the money for)

Or

2) Start a new character in a different server.

Obviously if you're choosing the "I don't want to pay extra to transfer servers", then its either a new character for you and your friends or be stuck in your server. There's nothing the game can do to help you. The tools are there, now its a matter of whether you will use them or not.

On Masamune. I agree with OP. It's downright hostile towards foreigners... been contemplating the move to a different server for a while.

You have much more pressing matters to tend to if you can't afford a mere $18.00.

Just ask Mom and Dad for a dollar a day, or get a job.. saving up $18.00 is very, very possible.

I think server transfers are a bit over the top, 18$ for just switching over some data. But if someone is on so much of a budget where 18 is a bit much they should probably rethink even playing this game since it has a monthly fee.
