What resources? My Monk looks like a purple Bard. You guys took the same armor models for i100 gear for Monk and Bard and just added a color difference. This is totally bogus. I know I can glamour the gear, but what's the point of getting "new" gear if all I can do is glamour an old model onto it so I don't look like a purple Bard?

I kind of understand the situation. At the same time, its meh that you only did minimal on the design for Coils gears. MNK and DRG have the same gear except one is red, and one is purple. BRD is sharing the same coat with BLM, just a different color. If you make Coils gear, you should really put effort into making each gear look unique and significant. When you look at it, you know its for Archer/Bard.

For the last set of Coils. DRG, MNK, and BRD had the same armor except for color difference. Same for healer and caster.

I love Glamour system and is one of the main reasons they're keeping me as a customer. Why make an mmorpg when you can't look how you want to look? As for vanity VS real gear I'd say most would prefer vanity, I for one prefer vanity. They need to find a balance.

That said, I hate all of the gear from level 1 to level 45. It's only recently when I can use crafted vanity gear that I am happy with my avatar and the immersion it gives the game. So yes, no more freaking priest robes for magic classes, more vanity designs.

The point of new gear is stats.

Really???? Thanks for chiming in with that brilliant response. Of course higher ilvl armor is going to have better stats, that's a given. MMO's also update armor models in one way or another when they release "new" content.

For crafted gear it's disappointing but somewhat acceptable though they should at least one extra bit of detail that differentiates them from regular dungeon drops. For Soldiery and dungeon drops with the Monk Soldiery gear and most CT1 gear being the biggest offenders? Yeah it just comes off a lazy regardless if only stats matter, resources must be really thin or going into the wrong places if even high tier rewards and raid drops are being recolored. I'd rather have more unique designs for gear with stats than more level 1 vanity wear, though the optimal thing would be a balance of both and especially avoid resorting to recolors for high level gear at all costs.

lol meanwhile I love the sailor outfits and I thought the designs for the caster soldiery gear (that tutu)were hideous. I was thrilled to be able to cover it all up so it never sees the light of day. With this in mind, I couldn't care less if the sold gear was a pallette change of a vanya robe or something. I'm actually happy they put more effort into glamour gears than "new high level armor." This allows those who want to look nice but not be forced to grind end game dungeons to still enjoy their characters looks.

Anyone who played any of 1.0 (beta included) knows that 1.0 was absolutely gorgeous. It really was. I never saw a game look more gorgeous than that game.

The trade-off came that in order to be gorgeous it required a MASSIVE amount of system resources and very good hardware. My friend had to replace his 6-month old video card just to meet the minimums to play the beta trial. And it lagged. Sweet baby Jesus, did it lag. It truly was awful. Any reviews of the initial launch of 1.0 basically amounted to, "This is the worst MMO I've ever played, but MY GOD is it beautiful!" The graphics had to be retuned but are still much better than they were because it doesn't require a high-end rig just play the game at minimums.

It's actually not a bad idea to have Best in Slot gear drop from content and have the best looking gear coming from crafting to use as glamor.

It's so discouraging to get an upgrade, put it on and be like, "Yay, I look like I'm wearing a potato sack." -_-

They should give different sets different designs but still make it noticeably class-specific. Fun vanity items are always great, especially for alts that don't have top-tiered gear. But if I ever get to the point where I'm in top-tiered gear, I want it to be like O_O I'M BADASS AND GLOWY.
