That was only part 1 of 2.3 judging by what happened in the past ( not a race in the past but ) i would say yes they will have a new race come 2.3 but they will not say anything till the next live letter followed by the 2.3 patch a week or so later

But there's no reason for another race lore wise yet. The obvious choice for the next race is whatever race Yugiri is, but none of Domans seem to be the same race as she is. So until the story opens up to allow us to go to the Garlean empire, I doubt we'll see other races.

I mean, I would be excited if they did reveal one, it just seems really unlikely.

sorry i was thinking of classes not so much races but it leads me to ask why not drop a new race with new classes all in one foul swoop

Sadly customization is a Female character pro, being a Male character gives you very limited options for customizing in almost every way. SquareEnix isn't at fault for this either a lot of companys that have both gender options in their games favor the Females.

I said it before and I will gladly repeat myself, the urge to be a Lalafel forced me into the Male role. As a guy, being a Female Lalafel makes me feel dirty lol.
