Can we either have an option to turn off animations of people outside of party or disable them entirely in towns?

I'd rather have that than let it turn out to be a "this is why we can't have nice things" situation and lighten animations in general. In particular, DRG and WHM Holy spam. Seems like allowable bait-harassment is on the rise again.

A certain FC on the server has members that tend to spam AoE around crowded areas (like market boards and summon bells) until someone complains, at which point they'll just follow that person around and spam until they leave. Then it's back to the same crowded spot until another person complains. As pathetic as that sounds, it happens often on this server. :/

I'd say the best solution would be to add a toggle that disables attack animations of others in towns. With a second to disable sound emotes aswell since thats the next obvious harrasment tool.

Though, the easiest will most likely be to just disable abilities other than sprint in town, and knowing SE they always like to take the easy heavy handed rout.

In the mean time, report em and move on. Go into a housing district to do your shopping/retainers, I highly recommend the dappled stalls area of the lavender beds. ^^ Where I've been hanging out the last couple of weeks.

you can mostly disable them.

Character setting -> character -> battle effect setting -> others -> change from show all to show none. You can also change it for party members.

the only thing that shows afterwards are circles on the ground.

I tend to do go to the housing areas as well if I plan on just crafting or working on inventory. The spamming doesn't really bother me too much, namely because I know these people are just looking to annoy others. I just dislike seeing other people get caught in that web.

This is a good 'solution' but it's not a real solution. I mean, you have to keep changing your configurations everytime you enter/leave a town. They're asking for a permanent solution. I don't even know why are you allowed to use skills inside towns, there's nothing to attack there.

Sorry you aren't happy with that answer but they were The question they asked was already in game. You don't need to turn others battle animation on and off so it is a real solution That might be your personal choice but I've left others off ever since non party members spammed stupid skills at 'event fates' while passing time.

Thing is, it makes your system run even faster when doing fates when you can't see everyone elses battle effects. win/win situation ;D If you like other battle effects on, ... nothing wrong with that either, but it is your preference and not necessarily everyone elses heheh
