Lately with all the talk of FFXI, and my possible return to Vana'diel in Aug, I've been reading through FFXIclopedia, getting info on all the missions and events I've been missing out on due to never finding the help required. And where should I start this massive undertaking...

My plan is to get to level 90 on my BLU and then go back and solo/duo/trio the old content I never was able to finish, and to hunt down NMs for the sheer fun of kicking their ass, since they handed mine to me more than enough times.

Getting to the point of the topic, FFXI has the best historical backgrounds on pretty much everything ~ weapons, items, NM, etc; that if I recall, some even tied in with their locations found and with skills and abilities too. I've always found this quite fascinating and made it even more fun to experience everything I could. Many of times I'd lose myself for hours or days on end reading through websites, checking out books from the local library and watching movies that had to do with said references.

Seriously though, I've learned more about our world and history from looking up info on items and NMs of interest from playing XI than from what all my schooling has tried to teach me. And I love it...

Anyway, I only recently got back into FFXIV due to the 1.18 patch, and havn't done much research, but I wonder SE, will you be doing the same historical background delving on NMs and equipment in XIV as you have with XI. I know there was a FFXIVclopedia website last year that got started, but it was swiftly shutdown due to the turn of events we all know.
