I definitely like that idea of being able to swap components in and out for improved stats and different abilities. That sounds really, really cool and could even end up being a very interesting PVP Mode: Magitek Mayhem!

However, I'm not so sure about being able to use character skills while piloting one. It wouldn't make sense for a Melee class to have them, and it would be unfair if mages could use their skills while melee could not. Instead, maybe have certain jobs/classes impart certain ability unlocks for the Magitek Armor itself? WHM might get Healing Beam, PLD might get Strobe Flash, MNK might get Rocket Punch, etc.
