Looking for an quite active NA Server

Greetings fellow XIV players,

I currently decided to move away from my current Server and looking for a new server that can fulfill the following points:

a) being a Legacy Server (for no real reasons)
b) has an active community with a broad range of nationalities (preferable would be some EU FC´s or LS´s as well)
c) has an active progression community in both statics and PF (not being entirely dependent on having a static, even though it´s nice to have the chance to get one)

I know it might be hard to fulfill all this requests/points and I don´t ask for a miracle, just your honest opinion and experience on your servers if they fit in here.

Thanks, but population don´t directly induce a active progression community. I made this mistake when I transferred back to Excalibur. Masamune had 5k less players but was way more active in regards of progression and overall.

If you want to get an idea on progression, it's not uncommon to look at each server forum. Some of them have progression threads that detail what FC has done what. Also, concerning activity, you may want to mention which time zone you may be most interested in since you may be interested in moving to a NA server but if your play time is mostly 3AM EST or something similar, you may be better off on another server.

Just realized you want a legacy server. I'd go for Balmung. Really high pop and seemingly lots of progression. Sadly, it's the 'unofficial rp server' which I find a real negative.. but maybe you won't!

I've played on Leviathan and Diabolos recently and both are pretty active. Biggest difference has been Leviathan had more activity late into the PST evening than Diabolos. Neither are legacy though.

When you transfer it's going to feel a lot more empty at first no matter where you go since you have to re-establish yourself in the community.

I didn't think I would either (I was on Balmung from 1.0 and saw no reason to move, so I ended up in the "RP server"). Honestly, I don't notice it that much. You'll see RP activity in some of the main parts of town, sure, but for the most part they keep to themselves either in housing areas or in the nooks and crannies of the towns. The only time this is different is during an Event, which can actually be really cool. Walking through Ul'dah and seeing a ball going on in the court area is pretty cool, imo. These are maybe once a month or so, still in places you don't normally go.

Could you explain why you feel that's a negative? Curiosity on my part.
