are dungeons really fastest way to level?

I have heard many toss ups in my FC about whether dungeons were faster or fates/leves. I imagine if I had 100 leve allowances it might be quicker but I don't so...

I am starting to level a gladiator and was mainly curious if the instant queues would help since between his runs and my scholars I average 30 minutes a dungeon.

I think the biggest problem I see in fates is lack of stable grouping.

If you're a Tank or Healer:

Dungeons are, by far, the fastest way to level. Quick queue times ensure that you don't spend much time outside of a dungeon.

    If you're a DPS:

Dungeons are not the fastest way to level. Your queue times will be too long to waste time doing nothing while waiting. Go ahead and queue up and do Leves or FATEs until it pops.

    Regarding Leves:

Leves are fantastic at low levels(< 15). However, they quickly and sharply lose effectiveness at higher levels. In my opinion, Leves are best saved for leveling combat classes to 15 and leveling Gathering and Crafting classes.

    Regarding FATEs:

A "quest reward" worth of EXP for every one that you do. +50% experience if you already have a Level 50 class. Most efficient when you aren't alone, but having too many people will make all the FATEs in the area more difficult, as they scale based on the number of people who participated last time they popped.

How it seemed to me is : fates out of party + in queue for dungeons vs partying fates and no dungeon queue. Dungeon is fast as hell exp as long as it aint a wipe fest, fates are terrible exp and extremely boring and you will have more than enough fates to do when u want ur atma.

If you are a tank/heal u can enjoy near instant-2 miniute dungeon pulls, I got my sch to 50 very fast by constantly queueing. My BLM took weeks...nobody does fates on Odin since atma happened, and the dps queue is freaking horrific on the eu datacentre. Merge the datacentre ? Or even increase the size of the eu datacentre? T_T I have decided I'm done making dps alts as it's just too painful to level a dps here. My face when I get toto-rak for the 7th day in a row in duty roulette<---my most hated dungeon by far....Merge the databases ? T_T

Dungeons are best xp wise, no matter class. Wait times on the other hand, well...

If you are going for most xp/hr and are not a healer or tank, then Leves and fates will be your friend WHILE you are registered for a duty and waiting for it to pop. If it pops in the middle of a fate, just enter, on a leve you can restart it when you get out.

When doing roulette, you get your daily bonus, more if you are adventurer in need. Untill about 30ish you get one level per duty just about iirc. Now they have the challenge log as well for xtra xp. When I brought up my BLM after PLD, it was all fates...fate fate fate, and then more fates. Then there was the update while I was raising my DRG then BRD. Fates were dead and it was all about duties. Duties are good.

One thing to consider though now is that there is a lot of fate farming with the hunt for ATMAS. You might be able to get into one of those parties and get some of the good ol days type fate xp, but they are scaled kinda wierd now I believe.

The way I do it is:
Roulette duties, all I can, job in need is bonus
Then I exit roulette and go for the top three duties according to my level, and top two guild-hests.
    Go go go!

The best though is when you are signed up for the roulette on low level and get Ifrit....easy xp for little effort.

    Hope it helps!

Do hunting logs while you wait for dungeon pop.

I think they're an effective way to Lvl up your tank/healer. If you've neglected your hunting log tho, like me, then go complete it. It's a good way of leveling up, u can join nearby fates and find out if any monster drops anything worthwhile on the mb or crafting.

I love doing dungeons to level up side classes! You get to work on strategies and figure out how all of your abilities work together. Getting to level 50 through FATE's only is the worst, you'll have no idea how to play your job with a party. Exp from mobs and dungeon completion are pretty damn good too, plus free loot and some of it which you can sell.
