At the end of the day, you can look at any other top MMO and you'd basically be laughed out of the thread if you try to enter your personal chat room into a progression record.

Hi salty people, just voicing my opinion, I also agree that the progression thread should be only for FC's exactly due to Beren's comments above.
There is nothing wrong with showing a LS downed something, put them somewhere on the bottom as a side notes: LS's that have killed T9: LS1 , LS2, LS3 in this order.
The point of this thread is competition, who's the baddest of the best, etc, why would a LS that one can be tied to multiple of get recognition? It's stupid. Raid 4 nights a week with my FC, then Sunday night, down T9 with my friends, put together a quick linkshell and wala i'm da best? Makes no sense.
Think of it this way since Linkshells are almost exclusive to FFXIV, in any other game how would you grant your little chatroom a rank???
T9
Advent Union Server First!
Blood Legion Server Second!
Horde Killers Server Third!
Mike/John/Chris/Sally/susan/Henry/little ricky Server 4th! OMG GRATS GAIS!

You'd rather take influence from another video game instead of the FFXIV Official World Progression Thread?
Im lmao at how someone would care if they get laughed at for their progression because someone else believes their clear is more "special" trololol

Saying we should allow for Linkshells opens doors to allowing random groups put together in Party Finder to also get credit. "oh we just made a PF group and downed t6? better make a LS quick so we can get credit!" A pug is a pug. Nothing can prove the difference between a dedicated LS and a PF group that cleared.
i just want my weapon lol

Their group killed turn 9, we won't recognize the LS name but was their a majority of FC members there? Before anyone objects to that, Blood Legion during Dragon Soul pulled players from Raiding Rainbow in order to down Spine which required Arcane Mages Stacking.
At the end of the day, recruitment is fine but its about who's team is best (FC)....Do you have an FC Name/Website/Hierarchy etc.... My 2 cents.
i wonder how upset and mad people would get if a ls or pug beat t9 as a world first? world progression would acknowledge but people on this server would laugh them off the server for taking the easy way out and how it doesnt count we have the highest populated server there is going to be a lot of content clearing

They would get official credit on the world progression forums, however they would not be included on an "FC Progression Thread." Also the likelyhood of this happening is almost nil, seeing as it's never happened before in any modern mmo that I am aware of. Clearing content is about structure, resources, dedication, stamina, and commitment - qualities that guilds are built around.i wonder how upset and mad people would get if a ls or pug beat t9 as a world first? world progression would acknowledge but people on this server would laugh them off the server for taking the easy way out and how it doesnt count we have the highest populated server there is going to be a lot of content clearing
I'd understand these arguments if lockouts didnt exist. But... Lockouts do exist. So the commitment is just the same as an FC swapping members in and out.
If you want to make an argument to follow other MMOs, in Guild Wars 2 you could join multiple Guilds.
