Bragging rights are important. Very important. Especially when Chocobo Breeding/Racing is all but confirmed for a future patch/expansion.

Why? I have to work for just about everything else in this game, save a haircut. It'd be nice if I could just do the same for my chocobo. It gives me a break from the monotony that comes with grinding/farming. I don't want this game to feel like a job. I have one of those and I hate it.

I have to agree... I would much rather Breed into a set colours or plumage type then just pay 500g for a dye.

Where is the satisfaction? There is no attachment to something if you didn't earn it...it isn't special, it is just a gimmick.

Perhaps there can be a compromise... General dyes could be just shades over the yellow feathers, transparent if you will.
But true bred Chocobos could be richer colours, and of course colour would be inherited...

eg Blue Father x Red mother = 40% Blue chance, 40% Red chance, 20% Purple chance
Legacy father x Red mother = 40% yellow/black tip, 40% Red, 20% Red/black tip

But... I suppose that is too complicated to hope for...

I am really hoping they develop Chocobo breeding well... I did like the system from XI, but it had many flaws... one of the worst was the breeding cards simply because they held no information about the Chocobo (stats, colour, family history, breeder ...nothing!)

Either way, I am looking forward to it!

I'm the Thread Creator & so it's MY Request, anyone to follow is an opt-in supporter or in opposition to MY Request. SE can weigh these suggestions & their support (or lack thereof) as they please.

It's not a request on "behalf of everyone", it's something I'm asking for & hope others support.

God, I really hope they don't make it require another stupid Catalyst like Dark Matter or Prisms. Simply dyeing once unlocked would suffice.

Reason why is all over the OP. Sure, I think some things should be freely available & simple to obtain. This isn't one of them for reasons of Final Fantasy history/lore/nostalgia/precedent.

You can already gear-dye all you want simply by handing a dude a glass of OJ, there are plenty of things you don't have to work much for in this game. I don't think Chocobo Dyeing should be one of them. If you question why, perhaps read the OP for my answer.
