Significant framerate issues in towns and around aetherites

Anytime I play in towns, most especially Limsa, my framerate drops to the low-20's. Adjusting the graphics settings from the High-Desktop to Standard-Laptop preset can yield a small boost, but usually only 5ish fps (standing still and staring at the wall helps some too). I've also noticed that being around Aetherites can sometimes make the framerate drop to the 40's on both graphics presets even without players around. Specs on the PC are below, and any insight into why this is happening is appreciated muchly.

Also, if it helps the game runs between 60-80fps outside of town. Additionally, the laptop my wife plays on concurrently with me over the same network connection has absolutely no framerate issues at all. Thanks!

Is your wife's computer an amd? I've heard of people having problems with amd and nvidia in other games. It might be your issue here, you may want to play with drivers.

edit* ok did some searching. It was a teso issue. The person with the issue fixed it with beta drivers at that time. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx As a warning though beta drivers are beta and may cause even more problems.

She has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M but is using an Intel processor. I'll look at what driver options are out there for my AMD; it's something to try. Thanks for the input!
