    Amdapori Deity

Was wondering which one of the twelve did the Amdapori people worshiped before their departure? I'm thinking Nymeia since she is the Goddess of Fate and they were a city of healing raising people from the brink of death(changing their fate). But that's just me
who do you think the Amdapori worshiped?

If I came across the answer, I've forgotten it (it's not in my notes). However I will hazard a guess that it is Althyk. If you look at where the Twelve's symbols were carved at the end of Version 1.0, you'll notice that the patrons of cities show up in their cities, but the other diety in the same region vaguely marks the spot of where a fallen civilization worshiped them. In Lominsa you have Llymlaen, but out near the ruins of Nym you have Oshon. In Ul'dah you have Nald'thal but out by Belah'dia you have Azeyma. In Gridania, you have Nophica and in the South Shroud, where we now have Amdapor, you found Althyk. Likewise, Althyk was never assigned a city, as far as I know, so he's open for this slot. By this same logic, Byregot is also a candidate, but with Byregot tied to Rhalgr (Patron of Ala Mhigo), I think Althyk is a better candidate being linked to Gridania's current patron.

I never noticed until now, but the cities now reflect the elemental aspect of the two members of the Twelve associated with their region.

This would explain why Halone's territory is now completely snowed in... Let's see here.

Fire would be Nald'thal (Ul'dah) and Azeyma (Belah'dia) of Thanalan
Wind would be Llymlaen (Limsa Lominsa) and Oschon (Nym) of La Noscea
Earth would be Nophica (Gridania) and Althyk (Amdapor?) of The Black Shroud
Ice would be Halone (Ishgard) and Menphina (UNKNOWN) of Coerthas
Lightning would be Rhalgr (Ala Mhigo) and Byregot (UNKNOWN) of Gyr Abania
Water would be Thaliak (Sharlayan) and Nymeia (UNKNOWN) of Dravania
Mor Dhona would be the center on which it was all founded - the sacred hub of Silvertear Falls

Which means that... <lightbulb appears over head and fizzles a bit before the filament pops> ...Nope. Lost it. I got nothing.

Still going with Althyk for Amdapor for now, though. My best guess.

Anonymoose, what do you mean " but with Byregot tied to Rhalgr (Patron of Ala Mhigo),"? Are you just calling them tied together b/c of the lightning element thing or is there another connection btwn them I don't know about?

Rhalgr is Byregot's father, isn't he? Also Halone's.

In this case, mainly the element. If La Noscea was a windy plain at sea with matching wind deities and Thanalan was a hot desert with matching fire deities, it'd be a strange coincidence for Amdapor to be tied to Nophica (Earth) and Byregot (Lightning) in a dense forest. Althyk not only fits the stone location, but the dual Earth fits the match-pattern of the other two main city-states and leaves the door open for the pattern to continue in other regions. It's not conclusive, it just fits much better than the alternative so it's what I'd call more likely (right now, at least).

I'll buy that theory. Perhaps of minor note is that the Lost City of Amdapor was said to have had its Earth affinity thrown out of alignment, which was the cause of the stagnation leading to the rampant fungal outbreak with which we're now familiar. Maybe just a hint of lore in favor of the elemental deity idea?
