Richard, I saw the BG website when you still had the kill counter updated and none of the NMs were killed over a 100 times by the end of the year...hence not even til March when the kill counter was still shown for the public, so don't exaggerate.

As much as I don't like it being a 5min reset, as much I don't care either, cause it's something to do and by now I don't give a fuck about any kind of restrictions or lockouts or whatever. Just give it to me and I will do it. Maybe I will do it 10 times a day, maybe just 1, but all I care about right now is, I WANT to do it!

He is much more serious about the game, beyond the point of quitting because he is bored. He might complain, but he will put up with it. He is more likely to get addicted too.

Guess who is easier to keep playing? The moody casual who has no obligations, or the sirius business-HC that will make up stuff to do if forced to, instead of quitting?

It's an easy choice, and unfortunately not the choice you would hope for.

Considering the estimated lifetime of the game, yes, a short-term F2P.
Your definition of casual and SE & Yoshida's definition of casual are different.

Casual means having the flexibility to play how you want to play, when you want to play. As in "laid back" or "easy going" instead of balls to the walls, you must do this every instance you can in order to get ahead first and foremost. Content on short cooldowns is casual friendly. Here's an example:

Player A can only play Sat Sun Mon from 8-10pm. The rest of the week he's [insert whatever that results in busy].
Is it better for him to be able to play 6 dungeons over 3 days? or 3 dungeons over the 3 days?
or hell 1 dungeon if it's Dynamis.

Of course "hardcore" (by your definition) benefit most. No one ever implied they wouldn't, but the content isn't casual vs hardcore - hardcore will ALWAYS get more as they invest more time. However, barring hardcore (with timers) also bars casuals. So where a hardcore could go 1/day 7/week, the casual could only do 3/week no matter what forever.

Your argument is irrelevant really. It's casual friendly, but of course hardcore will benefit if not finish it entirely in a matter of weeks. Why anyone would think otherwise is difficult to understand.

For once I can agree with you. Having to wait a certain amount of time to enter a dungeon would suck, especially if your party just messed up or did something by accident to cause a party wipe.

Hardcore will get stuff done first regardless of lockout or not.

5 minute timer won't matter for casuals since they (most likely) will never run it 2 times in a row.

What was mentioned earlier in the thread was that with a lower lockout (such as 5 minutes) SE will probably lower drop rates because you can go through it so many times. If the lockout was 48 hours SE could raise the drop rates since you'd be able to do the dungeon less but get rewarded roughly the same (which actually benefits casuals as gear/hr spent is increased).

Obviously it might be more difficult to form parties under an extended lockout so those whom cannot plan ahead all the time (Casuals) end up suffering.

Theres no exact medium in this regard of Hardcore vs Casual dungeon fromping unless its not end-game (and it probably isn't by definition of other MMO's endgame material). I would personally use a currency or a building currency that you get 1 per 16 hrs or something and can save up to 10... then you could do dungeon 10 times in a row if you wanted or whatever.

I'm fine with it since there's only two dungeons( i think), maybe when they add more longer timers wouldnt hurt.

I just hope they add some seriously confusing shit to stall everyone for a few days. Atleast I remember them stating somewhere they are designed to be difficult. Without a level cap. This is all I have left to cling to...

    Salvage v2. go!

    You guys are so silly.

Just because the dungeons reset every 5 min doesnt mean you have to play them every 5 min.

If your worried about blowing through them in a day then... Limit yourself!!! Why does mommy dev team have to restrain you!

Play how you want. Blow through it in a day? Go for it. Take your time and enjoy milking it? Go for it. Stop crying.
