Idea: FATEs for Disciples of the Land

Since FATEs are seemingly spontaneous timed events in the great outdoors, it would make sense to have FATEs designed for disciples of the land, who are going to be out in the field anyway. They'd be easy to explain in the game's lore, too; maybe someone from the goldsmiths' guild randomly struck gold and needs help mining as much as possible before anyone else can encroach on the find, or perhaps some new species of caterpillar that's been mutated by exposure to corrupted crystals poses a threat to plant life in the area. Maybe the death of an existing FATE's boss monster causes changes to the environment that disciples of the land can help to deal with.

In short, there should be FATEs for disciples of the land.

In a way, unspoiled nodes are like FATEs...

They are available on the map only every once a while.
When you complete them, they are gone until they spawn again an hour or so later.
They are linked to a specific region of the map and always appear around the same spot.

All these facts are true for both FATEs and unspoiled nodes.

The last thing this game needs is more fates.

Nothing wrong with fates, as long as they're interesting.

We definitely don't need more of the "tank 'n spank", or "defeat this horde of mobs" fates.
But I wouldn't be against DoL and DoH fates. Yes, I said DoH.

Considering how a FATE works, I don't know how one designed for disciples of the hand would go. Disciples of the land, on the other hand, are already out in the field, and we don't have any ways to level beyond guild quests, leves, and just grinding. FATEs designed for disciples of the land would be a welcome change to help disrupt the boredom that goes with leveling such a class, I think.

Have some key points spawn that when clicked, it simulates a craft, and the goal would be to fill up the progress bar.
Every successful craft adds some to the progress of the fate, higher quality equals more progress and experience.

If these DoH fates spawn on villages, you'd be able to spawn nodes for all types of crafts, ranging from a fence for a carpenter or armorer, to a lady with a torn dress who needs help from a weaver or a leatherworker.

The Maiden's encampment in Upper La Nosc comes to mind for possible FATE area. Especially for CRP.

These are good ideas. The developers tend to pay attention to threads with likes, right? We should do that.

Could I get some examples of these FATEs? Will these be as simple as the combat Fates in that only units and doodads are spawned atop an otherwise unchanging area? Or will, say, excavation areas actually be... excavated? Also, do you think FATEs (given their relatively short time) will really be the best way to bring DoL interaction into the open world? Or should there be FATEs, and more?
