And that's where the problem comes from. What you want is what a Summoner in this game isn't; what you don't want is what the Summoner is. We don't summon primals. THIS NEEDS TO BE PROCESSED BY THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP ASKING FOR IT. It's like all of them mashed the enter key during the Summoner questline and didn't get what Summoner is all about in XIV.
Let me summarize it for you and the rest: A Summoner is a magic-wielding class that was born as a result of the need for the Allagan Empire to fight back against the Meracydians who started summoning the Primals on the verge of the Allagan Empire's invasion of their continent. The Allagans found a way to access the essences of the Primals in the aether and manipulate it in such a way that it made it even possible to manifest a small fraction of their power into the physical world. They called these beings, Egi.
In case you haven't figured it out by now, unlike in XI, which is where a lot of you seem to be coming from, Primals/Avatars are antagonists in this game. In XI you were tested and they would join you in your battle against evil; over here, they're bad news. All of them, even the lesser aggressive ones, like Ramuh and Titan. The forms also make perfect sense. Have you done Pharos Sirius? Have you seen the blobs of corrupted aether just floating around? Well, it's kinda like the same here. You tapped into a source of energy and manifested it and so they made (imo) a perfect balance between something that resembles the original, powerful being, and still retains that abstractness of a concentration of energy, if that makes any sense (it does in my mind, lol XD).
I love my job and think it was very well though, and am much looking forward to the expansion and with it the expansion of my job's story. It's about time we give up on trying to correct something that doesn't need fixing. You might as well start asking for "skins for egi" dlcs. I mean, they went ahead and OKed phantasia for sale...
