    We really NEED another GREED

I don't think it's fair for people to be able to GREED over something they cannot equip.

I know what you're thinking: "if you want something, then go as the job to NEED", and I understand that this is not a critical problem, only for alts. But in this game, where one chest drops loot for every classes, and everyone can level up all classes, i think it's something that's been overlook.

Now, a couple of MMOs already do this by disabling the GREED button if you cannot equip it, which seems like a reasonable idea. Another option would be to have a second GREED. This would also prevent fresh lvl50 players to immediatly equip end-game gear before they actually have any experience on it.

I'm just sick of seeing people get screwed over by someone that can't even use the item.

the person you screwed you over was yourself, play the class or risk losing the loot.

I would rather be able to play my main class (which is geared) to try and gear other classes. If something drops and I lose the lot, Guess what I lost it. If I want it that bad I will play that class.

So if there are two DPS in the dungeon and one has BLM leveled to 49 while the other has BLM leveled to 50 then only the 2nd one should be able to "greed" BLM-specific level 50 gear?

Sorry, that just doesn't make sense to me. "Greed" means that you can't use on that particular class, but you want it. I don't see why the 2nd DPS's "greed" should get precedence over the first one's...

OP, no, if you don't like the rules don't play at the casino.

This would also prevent fresh lvl50 players to immediatly equip end-game gear before they actually have any experience on it.
It doesn't matter how fresh people are, if they are in the instance and you win, they have just as much right to greed on it as anyone else.

Ok, i'll throw in the context:

We were doing a GREED party for levi ex, and our healer wanted the WHM wand, but he changed to scholar because we already had a WHM who had the wand. He really wanted the Wand and even asked for it and everyone agreed. But when the Wand dropped, someone else rolled GREED on it and won, even thought his CNJ was at lvl 0.

This situation really pissed me off.
So I ask that you consider the system I talked about, and discuss it, if it would be good or bad, or even worth the trouble, instead of just jumping to "it's your fault".

Well that's unfortunate and the result of someone not sticking to their word by the sound of it. There's no need to change the lotting system though.

OP beat me to it but....

What I think he means is that players are rolling greed on gear they can't even use. My wife had this happen to her in T1 a few months back, A Striking piece dropped which she needed for DRG, She rolled and so did someone who didn't even have LNC/PUG unlocked. And the guy won it, He ended up being in one of our LSs was kicked after.

So in a way I do agree with the OP, But some players are just douche bags.

If everyone in the party agreed to it then you need to report the player.

or, and this idea is so crazy it might even work: Queue up with friends who will pass you the gear....even if you aren't on the 'need' job.

I'm starting to think people forget they still have the freedom to choose their entire team anytime they choose.....

    1. Should have stayed whm in a PuG of people he couldn't trust. No reason both healers couldn't heal it as whm. (it's easier with sch, but doable with 2 whms)
    2. Never expect a pug of people (even a 'greed' group from PF) to play fair.

    3. The GAME does not allow for 'opps lemme change my lot' (being able to change your lot to Pass if you accidentally lot Need/Greed on something). So maybe the person out of habit greeded thinking healers would need if they wanted not understanding the SCH couldn't need on it. If you ask for anything, ask for that to be fixed, that the option to 'Pass' is still available after you lot, incase someone asks for something after you already cast your lot. (this happens to me a lot on tome runs, I will 'greed' things for turn in's and someone asks after the loot drops mind if i take it...., I'd pass but can't now.)
