

Also there might be some problems I could see about /display weapons off because the game is heavily server-side. When someone turns off their head display, others can see it that way as well. You also blink before the change occurs and with /display weapon off and you would likely be unable to go into action mode. So before being able to go into action mode you would either blink and delay your character abilities or need to manually turn the display of weapons back on even. For a game that needs a lot of work on making the game play more intuitive and streamlined, this would seem very counter productive to add at all.
that is a wrong assumption on your side. They easily could make the weapon invisible without 'un-equipping or removing the mesh' like for the headgear hide command. It is not even hard to code.
and they could make it visible in the moment you activate the battle mode.
