Cloning WoW itself was the biggest mistake imo, but I completely understand where you are going regarding flying mounts; unless they add sky interaction or something, idk, "Shrugs"Square Enix, you have the advantage of learning from the mistakes of the past with this game. One of the biggest mistakes in the history of WoW was adding flying mounts.
It completely neuters player interaction in the game world, one of the prime reasons I left Azeroth was because I was the only other adventurer there, unless someone else wanted my mining node.
It's become a really big problem for the game, revealing itself to cost a lot of time and resources to REMOVE from the quality of the game as a whole, and caused the developers to completely ignore any kind of development of the game world as a result, resulting in 10 year old problems that still plague its design, no one caring because world exploration is now a "single player" experience.
