I've never understood the mentality of joining a random PUG and expecting everyone to have spent hours memorizing fights and videos. For raids and end-game stuff, I can understand since you're usually playing with a set group, but for a random? Or even worse, in the leveling dungeons.

People constantly bitching at everyone else in the group for not studying Youtube videos was the main reason I walked away after hitting 50. I was hoping that people would have mellowed out over the last few months as I'm coming back, but it seems to have just gotten worse.
So in other words you want to be carried as you get killed from a mechanic you've experienced for the first time and the other people in the group have to beat the fight without you. The guy that goes into the fight like that is just as rude as the guy that screams obscenities when someone makes a mistake. Yeah learning something for the first time is fun but it should be in a group that has either all agreed to that first and are all new players, or left to single player games. You have other people with you that likely know the fight. You are just on the opposite side of the spectrum from the rager that insults everyone.

    I look at videos.

But that being said.... since when has it become mandatory to ... spoil encounters for yourself... before you even play them. its like those sad acts on twitch that watch other people play an mmo to level 50 before it even comes out.

Also as sad as the culture of when you aska friend something you dont know... they say "google it" .... seriously? communication is a bad thing? its team building for a start.... DF needs more of that.

Some people like first time experience with no handicaps.
    Dive in and explore themselves.

I just don't understand one thing, people talk about experiencing content and exploring, but they go in asking the party for an explanation on what to do, so what is the difference between looking it up beforehand and having someone write down to you what you would have looked up?

    This.

OP is basically expecting other players to do what they could have done for themselves. No one can demand that others teach them, especially strangers in duty finder. As it is no-ones obligation to explain every mechanic. Especially when that information is freely available.

There are numerous guides available out there on all the jobs with info on how to improve. I'm happy to give pointers where I can. But, in mot cases, what I'm telling them is the same info as what is in the aforementioned guides that they could have easily accessed on their own initiative. You can't expect everyone else to do something you should have and could have done for yourself.

Yup. The severity of what you're asking to be explained is important too.

I'm happy to teach newcomers; I've explained Crystal Tower like three times over and that's not exactly mechanics-lite - but it is short bursts of content. It's not hard to take 20 seconds to explain the entirity of the Bone Dragon fight.

Trying to explain the entirity of the mechanics of Turn 4 or especially 5, given that it's several phases with distinct methods and mechanics that all have to be executed one after another, that is a nightmare.

And all that's great...in single player games.

It's common courtesy, MMO or elsewhere, to do simple things that prevent you from wasting other peoples' time in group activities.

I didn't know it was common courtesy to look up a basically "cheat code". I wanna see the fight for myself...if I have trouble after asking
I'll probably look it up. I don't wanna spoil myself.
What's wrong with others explaining? Yeah make this game more anti-social why don't you.

We all realize this game is pretty very anti-social...right?
It makes more sense to look up things in a single player game...you're playing alone.
    We're in a MMO, with...other people. o.o

Again, those things you can read yourself. Why do they have to spend minutes writing them down for you? If we are going by your logic they are then spoiling the fight for you.
Thats not socializing, thats making people do your work for you. I understand asking questions, asking for clarifications, but full on going in and asking what to do is just.. I don't even know how to describe it.
