Can't kick me when you the random person with 3 friends PS4 we roll in voice chat. Once again I'm a ilevel 92 sch and 95 monk why would I roll need on ilevel 70 gear? If any I would roll greed since it obviously I don't need the gear.

What do you mean? Everyone can use every item. They can change to that class and use it. I have a full set of the tank gear from Brayflox normal just waiting for me to start leveling my tank. Also, no game has disabled greed. They disable need for classes that can't need on it, just like this game, but to disable greed too would make items just rot.

And I'm an i97 SMN (as you seem to think ilvl is relevant to this conversation) I will still roll Need on any caster gear that drops that I can trade in for seals, which I'll then use to buy GC gear to gear up my alts. If someone I was running with politely said "Hi I'm nearly level 50 so could do with caster gear" or if it was a low level dungeon, I'd be fine with passing it.

But you didn't say anything. You just assumed he would pass it because obviously all gear drops should go to you, right? Then when he didn't you and your buddies sabotaged the run.

that is actually off-topic here, you could criticize him for sabotaging the run but the point simply was that even if players are level 50 for a class, they still do roll for loot they have absolutely no need for, it is not as though making greed only available to those with corresponding classes would magically make the problem go away.

Yeah I know I'm off topic, just responding. But I think OP's point was actually that someone with not even a level 1 CNJ took an i95 WHM wand. That's quite different to a level 50 Tank rolling on level 50 Tank gear. If you can roll need, you're allowed to roll need. It's not really up to someone else to dictate what "need" means.

Run wasnt sabotage didnt even waste a minute, even though I believe there is no such thing as wasting time in videogames. Since videogames are meant to waste time. I am a nice person I help more people then anyone I know. I let people watch CS. I don't mind explaining any fight. I don't expect instakills or automatic speedruns in df. I don't tell people to watch videos which is a waste of time. Let's be honest getting seals is the easiest thibg in this game hell I'm capped and that's we 4 level 50 retainers.

If I'm doing any of the high level dungeons where the iLvl70 gear drops, and a piece drops for the Class/Job I'm on, I will always roll Need unless someone has specifically said something beforehand. If someone asks, fine, but yeah, I highly doubt that Tank was psychic as mentioned previously.

Anyway, back on topic.

Before Coil 1-5 was unlocked, we had to grab a Pug DPS one week as one of our Team was away. Our static has a quite stringent Loot system that we use where we each have a Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Lot option. My secondary was Monk, and we didn't have a Monk, and the only time I would not get Loot was if the accessories dropped and our Dragoon could use them. So we beat Turn 1 and holy crap the Monk Pants drop. I rolled Greed, but so did the Pug DPS who didn't even have Pugilist unlocked. And yeah, obviously he won them.

Was I pissed off? Of course I was. Do I think the game should change to prevent that from happening? No I don't. It's part of the system. If I'd wanted Monk gear, I should have gone on my Monk. Simple really.

There is actually no difference at all, lv50 DRG rolled 'greed' for a WHM weapon (which he has leveled to 50) even if he doesn't need the weapon is the same as a lv50 DRG who rolled 'greed' even if he doesn't have a level 50 WHM, there is no difference at the end of the day and having a level gate in order to roll doesn't solve said problem either, in fact, it solves nothing, unless you're saying that a player with corresponding level 50 class are somewhat more justified to 'greed' for loot he/she is gonna discard.

It totally makes sense that the more established player with more jobs should get way more loot opportunities than a fresh player. </sarcasm>
