We really NEED another GREED

What about people who can equip it with one of their classes but don't need it? Be it because the person have already better equip or just played the needed class for the equip until 50 but not more?

the OP solution would only set a level requirement for ninja looting, but would not fix it.

Aside from turning in for GC points, there's a whole NEW reason folks will lot Need and Greed on gear even though they already possess much better gear: Retainers.

At level 50, Retainers get the option to access Exploration ventures with ilvl requirements of 50, 60, and 70. Rolling Need on Darklight and CT gear is a very convenient way to gear up your retainers without spending a ton of money on Vanya gear and such. Additionally, since the only way a retainer can get a class to level 50 is if you have the same class at level 50, anyone gearing a retainer is qualified to lot Need so long as they play as that class.

So, yeah - want gear for your alts, play as your alts, because between GC points and Retainers, competition for mid-level gear has become a whole lot more fierce.

This would also prevent fresh lvl50 players to immediatly equip end-game gear before they actually have any experience on it.

Why does it matter if they have experience or not? They still need the gears. Oh right, because gear = experience amirite? And just because they can't use it now doesn't mean they can't use it ever. I've won the wave bow for my bard when bard is only level 40. Still took like 5 days to get to 50 to use it. Doesn't mean my greed should've been less than the other guy that didn't come as bard.

I agree with the others. If you want the loot, you play the class. If you refuse to and lose the greed roll, it's your fault for not playing the class.

Something closer to the personal loot system used in WoW for LFR and Flex is the only way to solve this problem to everyone's satisfaction. All I'm seeing is "I don't feel that person deserves this loot even though they are doing the same fight I am because xyz" and it's a stupid comment.

With a personal loot system, you select the role (here it would be job) you want your automatic roll to have a CHANCE (emphasis on chance, the rolls are actually pretty low there to get a good piece of equipment) to get, and the system decides. No one else sees your roll, what role you selected said roll for, and you get to bring who you want to the event\dungeon\whatever instead of who has the specific job the need button is open for.

It's solved a lot of loot issues over there.

I've played WoW for a day and didn't liked it. That system is dupe! very nice indeed! give loot once outside the instance. I would vouch for that. Now SE needs to create a poll for us to vote. (not Votekick )

Anyone else feel bad if you get a lucky streak on rolls? I never roll need unless I truly need the item. If I just want it for seals, I will greed. Last night I won several drops I can't use (outleveled the usefulness) using greed only, and I was feeling kinda bad, but I reasoned that other people were probably passing on them. My rolls were not that high.

My opinion is if you want to need, play as the job. Or, speak up and hope your party will be kind enough to let you win.

XI's system worked a lot better

Need/Greed has no place in a game with multiple class options on a single character. Its just another instance of yoshi copy pasting WoW

Everyone else in the group with the option to Greed deserves the same chance to get the item as all the other people with the option to Greed if they helped kill the boss the rewarded the chest. Plain and simple, you don't have a leg to stand on with your argument.
