2 hours waiting for T5 in Duty Finder.

SE can you please do something to make people want to use DF for T5? Why did you change your mind about the echo increase? Who cares if a lot of people are clearing 6 month old content that drops ok gear.

PF is an option, but it's full of people that want kill exp and I'm a solo player. I've studied T5 and practiced in DF, but it never works out. If the Echo was increased enough, a party might be able to overcome these issues that will never disappear (people going in unprepared).

I have almost all jobs to 50, my main jobs are geared past 90 and I've hit a wall, I can't advance any further since I won't be able to finish a lot of the content due to bad DF parties.

I don't see a reason to continue subscribing, because I will basically max my soldiery on Tuesday and log off, what's the point of waiting over 2 hours for T5 to wipe in 5 minutes? I want to experience the game, but I can't.

Your obvious solution is to find a good PF party or a free company/static, but since you refuse to do so you're shit out of luck. This is 100% a personal problem.

I don't think more echo is going to solve the problem.

T5 is about understanding the mechanics and unfortunately there are a lot of people like me that rather do PF than DF T5.

And the ones that DF T5, many are probably there to learn, therefore, you probably are not going to clear it.

It isn't supposed to be easy. This isn't a solo game. While the game does have solo content, it isn't meant to be played alone, it is meant to be played in groups. Duty finder is a tool to supplement playing in groups with people you know, and it isn't meant to be the main method of clearing content. You need to find or make a group of people you trust and clear content that way. If you don't like that idea or cannot do that for whatever reason then this isn't the game for you.

Take a good look at the attempts you've made and tell me if the Echo would have made them successful. Most failures occur with conflag miscommunication and inability to dodge twisters. Conflags, Fireballs, Twisters will all one shot you even with a 50% Echo boost unless you're a tank and even tanks can't survive twisters. You seriously want them to start nerfing mechanics? Go into one of the PF groups. If you've studied as much as you say then you're probably in a good enough position to pass for someone who has experience. Just pick a PF that asks for only experience up to twisters and roll with them. You can even cover for yourself by asking what the strat is for particular phases. They'll likely assume you've used different strategies and are making sure which way the group is rolling.

I've played MMORPGs with a semi-solo mentality since I started around 12yrs ago. I say semi in that I still did group content when needed or felt like it, but if there were a way to solo, regardless of how slow/inefficient/difficult it was, I'd do it. The more that I could accomplish on my own, when the content itself was designed to be for groups, the more I felt accomplished. I was one of those handful of people that would solo endgame dungeons in vanilla WoW to avoid ninja looters. Likewise in FFXI, I'd solo Sky NMs (to some success) and other group-only things. It's not for everyone, and even those who have the solo mentality don't always fit the bill of MMORPG solo mentality. If you're not soloing for betterment and accepting of the challenge aspect on an MMORPG, where you otherwise shouldn't be able to solo that specific content, you're not playing with the right mindset. I daresay the genre just isn't for you (long-term).

Why do I bring that up? Because it's about an understanding that you have to take the initiative where you can (be it solo or group). Solo mentality is a fine line to walk on an MMORPG. You have to understand that there are going to be things you can't do alone. And where others will fail you, you have to persevere and try again. If DF doesn't work and PF parties require too much, you have to find alternatives. Make friends, join active FC's with some competent players, etc. Solo mentality when playing an MMORPG is essentially a leadership mentality. You look for ways to work around your limitations, like a good leader would look for ways to work with those he/she is with. It's about not being stubborn/shy/whatever and doing what you need to do to get things done. Not everyone is gung-ho enough to do that, and that's fine, but you're just going to have to accept that things are not going to be the way you want them to be without taking the initiative (for now at least).

I'm in the same situation. Mostly a solo player and still stuck on titan ex and turn 5 with no light at the end of the tunnel. Makes me wonder sometimes why I still bother capping tomes every week. And talking about coil DF wait times. Yesterday I queued for turn 2 to gear my alt BLM and waited 40 mins only to get in and immediately the healer says "oops thought I queued turn 1" and left causing others to leave and my 40 mins wasted. Everything to do with endgame is just starting to really irritate me.

Have you tried q'ing as a tank or a healer? Might cut the q time down a little

I wouldn't DF t4 much less t5, it'll just end in tears.
