Me when i play dragoon i use the blood for blood, then the monk skill for up my critical hit. Then i place myself in a good position to have all the mob on the line and i spam doom spike and a motivation for spam it more. I attack at 650 - 800.

When i see other dragoon who allway spam ring of thorn and do 200 damage. They should be kicked from the dungeon how can we be so useless ? They only need read their skill

Some of the non-aggroing, riot-blade-only tanks you run across in low-level dungeons seem to be rmt bots. I've also seen that bot program being used by a couple of PLDs atma farming in fates.

This, this, this thread forever. For multiple reasons.

1: Sastasha! a pugilist that at the start of duty, didn't wait for any buffs. ran into the first pack mob while the tank was standing there. Died. came back to the start. Did the same thing again, died. This went on for (no lie) 5 times before I typed "you might want to wait for the tank." It was ignored, he did the same thing five more times. Then I left.

2: Sastasha! an arcanist that only used ruin, and ran into every mob that could be avoided there was, without a carbuncle of any type even there. She died a lot. Ignored party chat.

3: Sastasha, Brayflox, Haukke, Copperbell! Tanks that don't use enmity combos or flash, just stand there, auto attacking, and using fast blade. (Not comboing anything to it.)

4: Sastasha! A tank that bombed it through the first pack mob, ignoring them, letting them all jump on the conj that healed her, and continuing running without a care for everyone else being shanked. Did the same to the second. Ignored them. Died. Did the same thing again and again. Ignored party chat.

5: Haukke! A conj that cast cure, cast cure, cast cure, cast cure, cast cure, endlessly on the tank, even at full health. No protect. No nothing. Just cure. when stuff jumped on us, then he sprinted away leaving us to die. Ignored party chat.

6: Brayflox! A tank (perhaps with a ps4 keypad!) that whined at me endlessly for running ahead of her while between packs. I didn't engage them, didn't aggro. Just looked at them. She insisted on standing stock still with everyone behind her character for her cooldowns. I told her her cooldowns will still run while she's moving, got whined at. She then has a go at me for taking hate from her on mnk, even though I'm attacking the same thing she is, and she's got it's butt pointed to the wall so my combos are pretty dire because I can't proc a crit with bootshine, having to do nothing but flank. I inform her of this, and question how exactly I'm able to take hate off her. I also mention her kill order is ridiculous, she's more than happy to sit in 2x eft aoes while attacking a pugil. She whines. Furthermore, her smn friend is a complete idiot without ifrit out and only using ruin. We get to aiatar and she dies, repeatedly, because she can't dodge. then whines at the sch for doting even though the sch is healing perfectly fine, it's her not dodging which is getting her killed. Finally, she eats dirt again, I tank the thing on monk, and me and the sch clear it. she then leaves after swearing at us, and grabbing the tank body.

7: Stone vigil! Somehow, we die to the first trash mob because the tank runs on ahead without waiting for buffs, and he has no kill order at all. He's also very squishy, I have more HP than him on monk and I'm pure STR, I know things are bad. the whm questions what the hell he's doing, and he blames the whm saying "you can't heal" when he doesn't use any kind of enmity moves and loses hate on all 3 mobs at one cure - then doesn't help the whm, just stands there, like a moron, wondering where the hell rage of halone is. Second trash pack! He provokes the aevis from the others, then runs into them all, to the main room, with 2 patrolling aevises, two dragonflies, and a lizard. I grab the aevis on the whm's butt and manage to kill it, before biting it thanks to the tank not being able to keep hate on rocksplitter of all things. everyone else dies. I ask him what he's even doing, and he responds "the healer can't keep up with heals" again. I tell him he needs a kill order, to take out priority things, like aevises, first, and he says he doesn't need one he's playing the way he wants blah blah blah then says he's reported me for being abusive. I laugh at him, and inform him someone has to be abusive in order to get a wristslap for that, and then say he's likely to get a suspension if he reports absolutely everyone that says he's an awful tank he must encounter a day. then I leave. I'd sooner bite a penalty than spend 70 minutes dying and having to requeue anyway.

....all of these were new players, and all happened in the past week.

I'm giving it a long while before I level any DoW alternate classes, at least until they've cleared off. 30 minute waits for DPS on DF and then an unplayable party isn't fun.

Actually, you say they're new players, but those first five? They're probably bots in those low level dungeons. You're describing almost exactly what the bots do: they run into groups of mobs and do mechanically identical things every single time and do not chat. You can even mess them up sometimes by dragging a mob they're fighting around the dungeon. They just happily follow it.

Yep. Low level dungeons are full of bots these days.

I had a tank recently that didn't have much gear equipped. In fact, he didn't have a chestpiece equipped at all. It seemed like that was mostly an RP related thing, based on the way the character looked. He pretty much never AoE'd, so I was tanking (as healer) pretty much every pull. It was just Toto-Rak though, so whatever on that. I can heal it with either myself or DPS tanking. What I couldn't heal though was the final boss with adds on me and the tank taking so much dmg per hit (1/3 of max hp) . That's a bit much. We did clear it though on the third try... but ugh, these groups. I'm 100% looking forward to pre-made Duty Roulette.

Faris, #3 and #4 sound like they might be the RMT tank bot programs I've read about (and seen a couple times, but I'm usually on my PLD when running low level roulettes). But it can be hard to tell the difference between a bot and merely a really really bad player.

EDIT: agree with Rhindas. 1-5 are all suspiciously bot-like.

echo buff + easy overworld + gears handed out to you + FATE + df= Bad players breeding grounds.

Of course people won't learn how to play. Do you need to be a good player to move into the game world? No, nothing is dangerous. Do you need to be a good player to get good gears? No, just do roulette all day, every day. Do you need to be a good player to complete dungeons? No, just spam DF until a party can carry you. Now with echo you can even cheese Coil!

I'm not trying to directly target console players but I and several of my fc members have noticed that the influx of new players since ps4 launch are a special kind of bad.

I had a tank in halatali that was straight up single targetin packs and the rest would auto Zerg the healer. I told him he needed to flash at the beginning and rotate through the mobs with his combo. He listened, kinda, he then pulls the next pack flashes once and stands there..... Loses them all and kills us. Then he says " flash is worthless" our healer says " no you are worthless" and leaves lol. I tried to coach him through the rest but at the boss with the floor being poison and the lightening he just kept standing in the poison and dieing. Finally moved up but healer was down and we kept wiping I had to bounce b4 I raged.

Yeah, I don't blame you for thinking that. It's a lower cost of entry compared to a gaming pc, and non-tech-savvy parents who are getting their kids a console tend to go for whatever is cheapest. (though PS4 is no longer the cheapest since Xbox One is going to be sold, as an option, without the Kinect for the same $399) There are plenty of studies I've seen that show the age demographics for pc being several years older on average than consoles, since they are more expensive and require more knowledge for construction/upkeep/etc.

Hopefully this will start dying off a bit once all the people who got the game at release end their free month and decide they don't like it enough to continue, and it has been about a month since the PS4 release since my auto-renew just started recently.

I am on PS4, but also use a wireless usb keyboard for chatting, and am always open to giving/receiving advice, as long as people's attitudes are decent. I am even fine with others (i.e. especially while doing low level roulette) who are new and are dying as long as I can see they are making an effort and listening to what the other players are saying. I am still relatively new myself, and this is even my first mmo, though I put a good deal of effort into learning at least an overview of each class/job for future reference. I have not tanked yet, but even in the lvl 50 dungeons (not the hm ones) I have had to give the tank advice on extremely basic stuff...which honestly is pretty sad. Heck, even in temple of qarn (back when I was even with the level requirement) I had one game where we wiped 7 times at the first boss with all the instant death mechanics because of the tank being new, but because he was light-hearted about it and actually listened, we were able to pass it, and I didn't mind one bit that it took so long, as long as whoever was causing the holdup was able to visibly improve. As far as I'm concerned, as long as people are doing their best and not constantly screwing around, I don't care if it's not a super ideal party setup in terms of gear and experience.
