Gear over looks

I know plenty of gear VS looks discussions have been made but seriously it's the only issue I have with FFXIV and which imo can hinder the game from new customers.

I know you can't please everyone, this is a fact but what made FF...FF in the last 20 years? Really stylized looks, in the year 2000 I would be content with dull knight armor, not in 2014.

Yoshida, I love the game but this is a strong area that needs improvement in my opinion.

For the record I know it's a technical/graphical issue with how gear adapts to the bodies in the game but you can solve those issues, plenty of games have. You can find some middleground where I don't feel like I'm playing Runescape or something like that.

sounds like a troll thread seeing as u can glamour gear at 50 to make it look however u like and then u can dye it as well.

Once you hit 50 with a class you can do a quest to unlock the glamour system.
One of the things you can look forward while you level up your first class.

See, this is where the game could do a better job. Yes I could've done some research about changing level 50 gear to look however I wanted but this is not common knowledge to anyone new to the game. As you see I started this month, barely a week into the game.

I believe that instead of calling people trolls it's a better undertaking to inform them of what they potentially don't know.

This is still an area of improvement because you can lose players this way. Appeal goes far beyond what most people realize. While it might not apply to you individually, it does to many others. Access to the "glamour" system should be added earlier in the game's story.

A lot of people commented when it was released that it was odd making it only available when you hit 50. But you change gear so regularly till you hit 50 I can see not many people wanting to glamour till then anyway. As you said you are only a week into the game and already 34

Yeah, the Glamour System is great, though I do wish lower-level players had access to it. No real reason why that can't happen.

You actually had my attention until this comment, then you blew it. While it does suck to have to wait till 50 to access the glamour system, it doesn't take too long to get there, anyway. By that point you should have some gear collected from your adventure to use.

He is still not completely wrong. Glamour is great but I'd love more options in whm gear instead of another variation of the pope look. Pvp gear is excellent in this reagard - the new swan set is a breath of fresh air and looks insanely cool. On the other hand, myth gear and AF look almost the same, and from royal to soldiery, to some of the hm dungeon drops*look alike.
