Why not buy some new crafted armor or materia prior to transfer then resale. You could create a new character on the server you want to move to to do some scouting before making the purchases. There stands a good chance you would loose money with the market board fees, but with enough research, and some luck, there's a small chance you could break even or even make a little Gil by doing this.
