I can't move server with more than 100,000 Gil !?

I was hoping to join some friends on Phoenix and went through the application to then by told I would lose most of my money if I transferred. What absolute nonsense is this!?

I have over 2 million gil and I am supposed to just throw it all away? What was the point in allowing Legacy players to move if they were going to place such ridiculous restrictions on us and they expect me to pay £12 for this?

This is incredibly unfair. I thought the reason they allowed transfers now is because the economies on these new servers had improved so why am I not allowed to take my money?

First off, the transfer limit is 1.000.000 plus additionally 100.000 per retainer.

Not sure why this limit is still intact, but considering your resources are still quite limited you might want to see if the Hyperion markets still have Allagan metal pieces in stock and invest in them before jumping.

Yep, it's beyond me as well.

But as I said, try and look on the marketboards/shout/partyfind for stuff with a fixed value like Allagan Bronze/Silver/Gold pieces.
This may help minimize your losses even if you buy them at slightly over vendor resell price.

Try to buy allagan pieces on the mb. You'll lose a bit of money but probably not as much as you would if you didn't buy some.

The restrictions are in place because a Phoenix 1 Gil is not worth the same as a Hyperion 1 Gil. There is no exchange rate available. It also prevents people from amassing a large amount of Gil on one server and then hopping to another, to magically have that lump of Gil now in their economy.

So I can take 1,400,000 but I can not take 2,200,000 and the people who pay for additional retainers are able to take more money. That is messed up. I think I'll just forget the whole idea. Typical Square Enix bull crap, nothing is ever simple.

Maybe you're right and I am over reacting but still its painful to let go of hard earned gil. Maybe ill just buy some nice stuff off the market.
