During the relic quest there's a moment you will have to give the melded Aeolian Scimitar to Gerold and continue doing duties without it, so you'll need another ilvl 55 weapon (or better if you can) for that time (the GC one or the one that drops in dungeons, Darklight Macuahuitl I think. There are crafted ilvl 70 but usually very expensive and the Curtana will be better.)

What do you mean? I've checked out the amber accessories, and it looks the best tank ones are around 300k each - i'm pretty good on the markets but that's mental! Is it worth holding out for accessories through drops/tomes? Or do I need to bite the bullet and invest?

You need to find a Goldsmith in your FC or on FL to make them for you. Any respectable lvl50 GSM by now can HQ those easy peasy. The Mats are simple enough to come by, and they can easily be melded. In terms of melding though don't go overboard. The amount of Myth that you will make in the dungeons and the actual DL gear that will drop will allow you to replace them fairly quick, allowing for a conversion if you have them at 100% spirit bond. They can turn into something nice materia wise. Just a thought though.

Again, I recommend getting in touch with your local GSM. If you have mats, just a tip is enough, and is no where near 300k ^.~

Just a little update. Almost at level 50 now, at about 49.3 and I've reached the stage in the main story where I'm doing the dungeons. I did also pick up the Aeoilian Scimitar HQ for 155k (better than the usual 200k!), so I will be collecting tomes very shortly.

Amber HQ are not NEARLY worth that much, not by a long shot. Maybe 5-10k? That even feels like a high estimate.

I don't even sell them anymore, oddly enough, lvl30-38 accessories sell better and faster, not to mention prisms ^.^

I mainly provide the bling free of charge to FC members who newly hit fiddy and to those looking for some on a tip basis only. It only take like ten mins and really helps people out until they get their DL stuff and what not. ... Astral on the other hand...

Well i'm at 50 - rocking my full PLD set with Aeoilian too. Picked up a few accessories on markets for around 30k each (Wolf, something or other??) and I'm at around 4.1k HP now. I've only got Praetorium left on the main quest chain now too and I'll be farming tomes through dungeons and dailies to upgrade gear.

Just a shame I'm still relying on duty finder for groups, I'm not really in an endgame FC. When does that pretty much become a necessity to avoid pulling my hair out every single raid/dungeon?

I don't have a static group, that's probably why I go developing slower (I don't have reliable play time at the best hours.) I think it is very recommended for Coil T4, T5, Extreme Primals and forth. Maybe not strictly necessary except Second Coil, since there are groups on Party Finder usually. PF groups require exp normally, although there are practice groups or you can create one. Many people use DF to practice and then go to a PF group who requires exp. Unlike Japan it seems, where people practice in PF so that they can join DF already with exp, I have read.

Haha, funnily enough I did CM/Pr for the first time (part of the main quest) chain, and because everyone in there is farming tomes, they're all so over-geared for it and they've been there so many times that I pretty much just DPS the whole way through and there wasn't one single wipe!

Another question, what do you guys feel are recommend HP pools / iLvl's for each dungeon at endgame, starting with CM, what should i be farming in what order?
